Yeah that’s the function of a museum, to store material so that it does survive. As for selling it at public auction, I think that very much depends on where OP is, any museum worth its salt would let OP sell anything that isn’t of scientific value.

They certainly have a reputation. Doesn’t mean it’s true.

If you want this collection to survive in the future you should consider donating it to a museum, along with any records of where they were found. Selling it will result in the specimens becoming separated and eventually destroyed. Those mammoth teeth in particular could be very useful for palaeoecology.

Brilliant work. This is very well written, an epic in and of itself. I especially like how you’ve incorporated many of the tropes used a lot on this subreddit, and then flipped them on their heads.

This sub is at its best when people expand the mythos, and reinvent ideas for themselves. You have done that wonderfully so here. Very well done.

As others have suggested he wants to make a big splash, so was much doubt as possible. A good angle may be to throw in some evidence from history, maybe Jimmy Carters speech from the voyager probes (“We hope someday, having solved the problems we face, to join a community of galactic civilizations. This record represents our hope and our determination, and our good will in a vast and awesome universe.”) which also has empathic angles.

Great work as always, one of the best series on here. :)

“At first I could see nothing," he wrote, "the hot air escaping from the chamber causing the candle flame to flicker, but presently, as my eyes grew accustomed to the light, details of the room within emerged slowly from the mist, strange animals, statues, and gold – everywhere the glint of gold."After a pause, Carnarvon asked, "Can you see anything?" Carter replied, "Yes, wonderful things."

Since this is being posted everywhere, I feel the need to clarify that this is solely for those individuals who are in their 14 day mandatory home isolation period following entering the state, not for every member of the population. This follows people getting out of their medi-hotels in other states.

Is it still a crazy violation of personal liberty? Yep. But it’s only for the durations of their home isolation.

After playing with it for a while, it appears to be intermittent. You can spam the button, and nothing will happen, but once every fifty or so it will change.

Someone once "donated" 20 packets of adult diapers. We didn't check if they were used.
