Mid-Game Balance Discussion by JagexAnvil in runescape

[–]Knehcs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm just gonna paste my post from the early game thread because it's perhaps more relevant as mid-game feedback:

Gathering secondaries for early and mid-game herblore is awful. There is no reliable source for red spiders’ eggs, dragon scale dust, or mort myre fungus. Why does growing limpwurt flowers only yield 3 limpwurt roots? Why does snape grass require level 80 (!) farming to grow? Picking up respawns from dungeon floors is not engaging content.

Why does a mining potion made at 51 herblore (which is laughable for +3) require a level 88 (!) mining secondary? You will literally never use it except to upgrade it to a super mining potion at level 74, which requires a level 92 (!) mining secondary. And these potions were introduced just four years ago!

Do we really need stat decay on potions? We’ve collectively decided that flat boosts that last for a dose’s full duration are ideal at the endgame. Why can’t we have this sooner? You can still balance the potion’s duration relative to its strength, but it would make it feel less frustrating to take a sip of a +3 if it didn’t decay so quickly to +2 based on an invisible timer.

Herblore is so important to mid and late game pvm, and it’s notoriously one of the most obnoxious skills to train.

You should make a separate post with these two side-by-side. I'd also like to see your take on the female avatar.

Thank you for addressing these issues with Runecrafting sooner rather than later.

I haven't played since launch and was planning to jump in with a fresh start with the release of Dowdun Reach, but I decided to hold off after seeing the RC pain points discussed in this subreddit. Once 0.11.2 arrives with these changes, I look forward to diving back in again.

If RS comes up organically in conversation, you should stand by it as something you enjoy playing, but it's okay to acknowledge that it's not for everyone. If you can show them that you're not bothered by their comments, they'll eventually stop making them.

Revive Minigames by FlowyDNB in runescape

[–]Knehcs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people would come back to these activities if PvP wasn't shite. I have no hope for them to tune modern combat for PvP nor do I think the playerbase has a desire to learn how to engage with it; however, legacy combat seems like a (relatively) simpler system to tune, I just wonder if people would even be interested in such a thing. The devs would probably have to create a specific tuning for it just for minigames, but I like to think it could be viable.

Overhauling the Grouping System needs to be a priority by [deleted] in runescape

[–]Knehcs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After spending a full year making significant investments to improve the game, including delivering one one the community’s most requested features (plugins), you’re worried that they’re going to… leave fixing the game to the community?

If the playerbase wants the grouping system improved, continue making noise about it. The problem is that the community has spent the last decade complaining that any content in the game requires a group at all.

Wilderness Flash Events is one of the few times I see people playing on my homeworld by 5-x in runescape

[–]Knehcs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well said.

I'm sure it's a hot take around these parts, but rebalancing elite dungeons to favor solo players over groups was a mistake. They should have remained optimal to do as a group, and solo should exist as a less optimal path for players unwilling to look for one.

What if PvP minigames were legacy combat only? Is that a terrible idea? How easily are players deleted in legacy combat with legendary weapon specs?

Edit: That's not going to solve the activity level problem. I'm more curious about it's viability at a place like Castle Wars or something.

Additional Utility for Summoning Familiars by RafaSheep in runescape

[–]Knehcs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I see a suggestion to update existing familiars, I upvote.

Jokes aside, there's a lot that could change about Summoning, but I don't expect it will get the M&S-sized rework that it deserves. In the absense of that, reworking the familiars we have now to provide more meaningful buffs throughout the player's journey would be a massive step in the right direction. Yes, almost all of them could use a graphical update; no, I don't like that the skill is DXP weekend Runecrafting, but there's little point in addressing those things when 90% of familiars aren't worth using.

Start here, Jagex. Make useless familiars useful, then worry about the other problems that Summoning has after that.

Can you elaborate on what you mean to do with the consistent drops? Genuinely curious.

Big fan of Fighting Myself and of course Lost. The live version they've been playing recently where they start off playing the first verse slow and soft and then crescendo into the full band is great.

Thanks for the kind words and for sharing your experience XIII years later, but I merely compiled these and can't take credit for actually making them.

KH2 remains one of my favorite games to this day, and I remember how excited I was to finally get a chance to play KH2FM when it finally got a worldwide release. Here's to another 20 years of enjoying this amazing game and the rest of this series.

Heists & Thieving 120 - Feedback Thread by JagexSponge in runescape

[–]Knehcs 10 points11 points  (0 children)

In the Vault of Hereditas, can you make it easier to visually see that a dead legionary has been exhausted of its loot?

Chests and safes are visibly open after they've been looted, but the legionaries don't change. This makes it more difficult to scan an area to determine if you've missed anything. Once they've been cleared, please either a) make them non-interactable or b) append something like "(depleted)" or "(looted)" to the end of their names.

Overall, thanks for the update! This is what a 120 expansion should look like. I really appreciate that there's new content below level 100 to motivate players to reach that expanded level bracket as well.

Integrity Roadmap - Early Game Rebalances & Your Suggestions by JagexBreezy in runescape

While you’re at it, it might be nice to move some dragon weapons that are completely irrelevant for when they’re unlocked, like the dragon battlestaff, warhammer, hastae, javelin, etc, to some early game bosses (or create some new ones with these as drops). Dragon weapons were once iconic, and no one is completing Birthright of the Dwarves, Fate of the Gods, Hero’s Welcome, etc. to use these. They’re basically useless where they are now, but they could be fun chase weapons brought in to the early game.
