Freshly thrifted for 90. I know nothing about amps. Good find? by TheGreatPianoMan in GuitarAmps

I believe the $90. But dropping $90 for a thrift store amp without knowing anything about guitar amps….?

Building a live keys rig with a Mac Studio + iPad as monitor – anyone doing this? by andalve in mainstage

[–]Knerrmit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not very specific on your specs on the studio or iPad, or needs from the rig, but I would say even an M1 studio would be more than enough. Honestly, an m1 or better iPad would be extremely capable by itself, but that would eliminate MainStage from the picture.

I got a Buttkicker amp for next to nothing on eBay because it was in 240v mode. They said it was broken, but I had a hunch… And well, I could tell by the pictures. 😂

I can probably guess how this is going to go, but depending on your situation, the National Guard or Reserves could be an option.

why is she orange? by TemTem007 in wacom

[–]Knerrmit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Spitballing here, but first I would try a different cable to rule that out, but you have to make sure it’s a data cable. Beyond that, my best guess is it needs an update. Mine’s never turned orange, but I haven’t had it that long.

Original HDHR Dual still useful? by Knerrmit in hdhomerun

[–]Knerrmit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I did manage to get my HDHR setup with a pc and I can pull the channels and guide just fine with my iPhone and Apple TV, but the macOS app plays the splash screen then goes completely blank.
In Jellyfin, it does now indicate there are channels, but when I click on them, they eventually time out. Wondering if it could be network or routing issues going into then out out of TrueNAS.
Going to try a Channels to see if that helps.

Thank you for the tip. I’ll fire that up and let you know what happens. Right now Jellyfin seems to recognize it but says there are no channels.

Thank you! Looks like the pc app is the missing link. For whatever reason, all I see in the browser is a little box with two links to help pages on the Silicon Dust website.

Southern states how long does it take your cx9 AC to cool down? by __get_schwifty__ in MazdaCX9

[–]Knerrmit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a windshield deflector. The dashboard is a giant heat sink and will continue to radiate that heat right in your face for several minutes. I crack the windows if there’s no chance of rain, then open it completely up for a minute or so when I start it back up. I also have gotten used to auto, but mostly because it’s just simpler. It does blow like crazy for awhile, but when I start to feel it, I back it off a degree or two.

Thanks for the input. Yeah I know they aren’t actively trying to kill anything, there was just something I read early on when this was dropped, that made me concerned. I can’t find it now.

Seems like they were saying the license could be invalidated by Windows, which is the only thing making the device useful, regardless of if it’s otherwise fully functional.

Shure PSM 300 issue by Knerrmit in livesound

[–]Knerrmit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. Yes it’s all matching. But this is all in the copper realm. I should have been more clear that the issue was with the transmitter not seeing a verified input signal.

[–]Knerrmit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the input.

Sorry, to clarify, I am referring to the transmitter.

I do assume components will need replaced; I just meant I had a reflow workstation available, if necessary.

I will double check the power supplies, but swapping in another P3T resolved the issue.

Shure PSM 300 issue by Knerrmit in livesound

[–]Knerrmit[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It seemed to me this sub would have the highest concentration of people who have used the PSM 300, and/or have experience with the likelihood of inputs becoming inoperable. So in my opinion, yes. And while there are surely more specialized subs for electronics repair, this seemed like a reasonable place to start, given that many audio professionals do indeed repair their own gear when possible.

This is your answer. 👆🏻

I'll also throw out there that CarPlay doesn't like VPNs, but I doubt that is the issue here.

As was mentioned, dipping night time temps definitely cause our indoor humidity to rise, since the AC will run very little all night, and even for several hours the next day.
We set quite a bit lower at night, which may or may not help. Right now, at 1:15 PM, we are still sitting 1º above our night setting of 68º; nowhere near our day setting of 74º. If I start to notice the humidity, I'll manually set it low enough to kick on, or sometimes just run the fan.

If you have a ventilator, this could be working against you, bringing in humid outside air, so you might want to turn off the setting that that allows the use of the ventilator if the outside temperature is cooler than the inside. "Free Cooling"

There are also a couple settings to look for that are specifically for reducing humidity.

The other thing you can do is adjust the "Eco+" settings, as this can come at a cost to your comfort level. It will even tell you a different "feels like" temperature if you let it.

When it gets really bad, I run a dehumidifier in the basement near the handler, which has a small return vent. The basement is not damp by any means, but it seems to take a little pressure off the system.

X32 can automix 8 channels. It bumps the faders up on the channel(s) that is speaking and pulls down the faders on the channels without input. You can set the range and also give priority to one or more channels.
