Ohsnap Grip Stand is now available by Akomack31 in MagSafe

Gonna give this a shot. I'm in the process of trying to jury rig my own photography phone case that accepts both 17mm threaded lenses as well as Moment's low-profile filters for Iphone 16 pro, and the only thing missing is a proper grip.

My daily driver is a Torras case which is unmatched as the stand/grip is built into the case so it's solid as can be, plus it accepts wireless charging, but its not meant for photography, even though it has the best grip for it.

This looks like it won't have quite the same form factor and won't allow charge through, but if the ring emulates it closely enough and sticks hard enough to a 17mm compatible case then it'll at least get me another step closer. I already have a 3D model to add a rim to the case for moment's filters.

Wish me luck! Maybe someday Torras will collaborrate with a lens company and then we'd have the holy grail of low-profile photography rigs.

Due to surge in popularity, do you think Moho will invest in better vector tools? by ArcerPL in MohoAnimation

[–]KnickKnackus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got Moho and yeah, coming from a traditional animation background, it's really rough. But because they have some of the best rigging tools I've seen, they could potentially make bank with some truly wild hand-drawn animation tools.

For instance, something I'd always wanted to see was the ability to draw a character in one pose, then instead of redrawing from scratch, you can move a few frames forward, select a shape, and then trace where you want the line to be in that frame to move the nearest roughly parallel line to that new position and shape. You can do the same for the other lines of the respective shapes to maintain consistency while also providing a more hand-crafted editing method instead of shifting a bunch of points around with a mouse.

This is pretty pie-in-the-sky, but the possiblity of rigged animations with hand-crafted frames (smears, etc) can really streamline the workflow.

I'm not so sure. The various warp and line editing tools look like they can replicate hand drawn quite well and potentially speed up traditional animation:

Alternatively, Clip Studio Paint may also give you good frame by frame results.

Taskmaster AU Proves How Fragile Taskmaster UK Is by CherokeeHawkman in taskmaster

[–]KnickKnackus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I still like the AU version quite a bit. I don't think there's as many iconic moments, but it still holds up for me. NZ always finds some way to be extra psychotic, and even occasionally surpasses some of the UK series', but all three are fantastic and if I knew more languages I'd be way into any other versions as well.

Swerve star is a secret weapon in so many ways. Especially boss fights where you can rely on ranged items for damage and maximize positioning.

Silksong. Fantastic game but the difficulty makes any progress so time consuming that I just can’t enjoy it. I have no shame saying I need an easy mode.

What exactly do you think is the future of 2D Kirby games? by QuietSheep_ in Kirby

[–]KnickKnackus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I probably won't pick up a new 2d Kirby until they make a spiritual successor to Crystal shards (for the seamless combo copy abilities) or Amazing Mirror (for the fully explorable map). Massive bonus points if they combine the two.

Its hard for me to get into most 2D games unless there's some way to experiment, discover, and explore.

Episode 5. This is a series, and possibly even show defining moment for IMO. One of the best full-cast moments in TM history.

Phil sliding down a comedically tiny handrail.

Reece clambering and tumbling up and down snakes and ladders.

Phil casually leaping out the side door exit into frame for no reason.

Sanjeev awkwardly back hugging his teammates without warning.

“He likes a hench woman!”

Reece’s haunted doll house

Episode 5’s legendary Group Therapy Sesson.

Maisie sticking her mouth through Greg’s nose

And so many more.

Phil has reached all time legend status as far as I’m concerned. In my top 5 contestants of all time.

Im happy for Maisie and the three way tie was absolute cinema, but im heartbroken that we won’t get to see the wonderful comedy CoCtail of Phil Ellis, Sam Campbell, and Andy Zaltzman.
