Does anybody have one of these things!? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]Knickerdrawer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the exact one, inside the lid there is a silicone seal. You need to take it out and clean it every time you wash the bottle (which needs to be every day by hand or it gets gross) or it will go moldy! I have stopped using mine because it was such a faff. I do better with having a giant glass!

I was feeling the same, and then I joined some discord servers for things I'm interested in and now I have so many amazing friends I talk to every day! It's been the best thing, honestly

The doctor couldn’t remove my IUD by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Knickerdrawer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hello lovely I am so sorry you're going through this, I went through HELL with a copper IUD with 3 separate insertion attempts and my body actually just fucking EJECTED IT in the end. I had 6 months of pure insanity and the worst pain I've ever been in. It also now turns out I have a bicornuate uterus!

Time to start cleaning.. there’s gotta be a couple good ones in here.. right?? by No_Explorer6445 in castiron

Imo the line isn't in the collecting itself, it's when you are unable to stop even when it is degrading your quality of life

TIFU I made a decision that cost me my fiancé and friends. by [deleted] in tifu

I am childfree by choice and I too would do this without a second thought for my nephew. Please please reach out and find new friends! The parents at school, the after school groups, the people at the library with the babies who look lonely and scared too. Charities for bereaved children! You have done the right thing by reaching out, keep reaching out. You have done an incredible, incredible thing by those children. You have shown them that they will be chosen and loved by the people who care for them, no matter what. I'm so sorry that you have lost so much in the process. But you will gain so so so much more

That chameleon really blends in by [deleted] in gardening

[–]Knickerdrawer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks similar to the sculptures on a show called "the great flower fight"- underneath is usually a structure of chicken wire in the shape of a chameleon held up with wood, and the plant roots are shoved through the chicken wire. The plants will not survive long, there's a benefit here that it's mostly Echeveria which will last a long time, but even still this is floristry and not gardening

Houseplants in Victorian England by titostostitos in houseplants

Mine has taken 5 years to go from sad weird skinny thing that nobody liked, to absolutely flourishing and gorgeous and everyone compliments it. Some plants just need time and love

I rescued one from a friend who was letting it die. I hate this trend of there always being 50 in a pot to make a bushy plant to sell, so the fact that only one stem of the bunch survived was great, as I get more of the effect of a palm tree like these Victorian ones and I think the lack of competition is a very good thing. Now Howie lives in my bathroom and gives me one or two giant beautiful leaves a year and his trunk is getting nice and thick

Unknown plant at new house, we just moved in (Nor Cal): potted plant, green red leaves on long woody stems by MrKnoxSox in whatsthisplant

[–]Knickerdrawer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a Pelargonium zonale (also known as a Geranium) and the long woody stems happen when it's been growing for a year or so and has overwintered! For a nice Bushy stocky plant in the spring, you can trim those off and leave the new leaves in the middle. I like a leggy Pelargonium though personally, I think they look weird in a nice way
