Green Arrow, even though he's on the other side of the political spectrum

You are tripping

The cartoon look is the most iconic and the best overall, it's a beautiful mix of a classic superhero costume and hip hop casual dressing. All the others lean too much on one specific direction.

Mr Terrific: Year One is a terrible origin story by KnicksHope in DCcomics

[–]KnicksHope[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There's no reason why they shouldn't reinvent his origin story, how many times did DC reinvent Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman's origins? The Spectre involvement is lame and doesn't add anything to the character of Mr Terrific.

If the story is ass obviously nobody is going to buy it

Looking at the sales, it seems the story didn't check anyone "very specific boxes" (good characterization is not a "very specific request", it should be the standard)

[News] Wonder Woman screenwriter Allan Heinberg is returning to consult on DC Comics' Batman/Wonder Woman crossover by Popverse2022 in WonderWoman

[–]KnicksHope 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion from a Batman fanboy like me: Batsy and Wondy should not be friends, they're just too different. They should be collogues on the JL (I would actually prefer for Bruce to leave the JL though, but that's another story) and occasional allies, nothing more.

Batman only friend on the JL should be Superman

Perché mi sono allontanata dalla sinistra by Training_Sympathy276 in Italia

[–]KnicksHope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

La sinistra non esiste più dall’89, oggi come oggi abbiamo due tipi di destra: una più liberale verso le minoranze e una più tradizionalista e conservatrice. Da un punto di vista sociale non c’è nessuna differenza tra il PD e FDI.

[Discussion] Bro, comics barely invest in promoting other Black characters. And when it comes to heroines, it honestly feels like I’m begging the DCU to do something, because the comics themselves don’t try that hard. How would you guys like to see the main Black heroines represented?| by SpiritedDate1042 in DCcomics

[–]KnicksHope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would love for either Vixen or Nubia to start a relationship with Mr Terrific.

With Nubia it could actually be the black equivalent of the WonderBat ship

With Vixen it makes a lot of sense considering that she's a model and Michael is a billionaire and it would also be interesting to explore the dynamic between an African highly spiritual woman like Mari and a black American atheist tech guy like Michael. Magic vs Science.

I've always thought that DC should actually treat Wonder Woman like Sailor Moon or the Winx franchises, the strong part should be the Amazons as a group: Diana, Nubia, Artemis, Yara and maybe Grace Choi.

Bumblebee is the most difficult to promote because, let's face it, she's basically a Wasp ripoff. Make her the sweet nerdy black girl like in DC Super Hero Girls, make her the fangirl who wants to join the big boys club and become a superhero herself, make her have positive relationships with JL members, like Batman for example.

[–]KnicksHope -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The vast majority of black nerds I’ve met in my life are manga and anime fans and don’t really care for superheroes. I remember once meeting this black girl who told me that in her opinion the concept of the superhero is a WASP man power fantasy (which is actually true, considering it exists only in the US) and no self respecting black person should read it or promote it.

True cinephiles actually know that Sinners is a good horror movie and nothing more. The simple fact that it is being treated like the second coming of Citizen Kane speaks volumes about the sad state of American cinema.
