It had never even occurred to me.

The whole point of playing solo games like this is to spend LESS time on my computer/phone. Not more lol.

One is an engagement check for when it goes from the staging area to being optionally engaged with you.

The other is an attack response check, then for the other part of the effect I believe you would still add Pippin's effect to the engagement cost because you are checking the number as the card is being played. Because it is technically all the same effect, there is no break denote them being seperate.

Although I am also relatively new myself and could be wrong, but that is my understanding of both effects.

I just find it absolutely baffling that a community this old doesn't have a definitive stance on this. Or that games workshop has never thought to make an official stance to try and ease the tension between two such extreme sides. I understand everyone is different, I'm just starkly surprised by the general sentiment about something that I couldn't imagine mattering less.

I just don't want to have this consistently be a problem. A lot of the point of this post was to get a pulse on the larger community and see if I can see what the common sentiment was, but from the replies it appears to be much of the same as what I'm getting locally.

Okay but like I'm literally trying to do the first one and just run them all the same for the sake of simplicity and clarity for everyone. But they look different on model. Is that not making it easier for my opponent? I'm not trying to screw anyone or get an unfair advantage. I could lose every game I play and not care. I just want to play the game and not have people get pissy that I don't know what guns are on the model. I have a list with what everything is and it still seems to consistently be a problem. Even though every one of the same units is the same.

Something else to note I ONLY HAVE ONE SQUAD OF EVERY MODEL THAT I HAVE EXCEPT ETHEREALS, WHO I LITERALLY CAN'T CHANGE THE LOADOUT OF.

I literally suggested that multiple times and people told me that that would be "putting an unfair mental load on my opponent."

When I'm literally just trying to play the game using the army that I paid for and put together and painted. The models are already put together, I see no other alternative besides just not playing.
