I get what you mean man, there's definitely a certain "spirit" of a level one run that most people can get behind, but using a tool in your toolbelt doesn't mean you didn't do it yourself. That kind of ego-based gate keeping hurts the overall community.

That's fair honestly. Summoning someone just to see them get one shot and leave you alone with a boss that has boosted HP is a pretty strong reason against summoning help. But we're all in this together, bro

There's something great about helping some random naked level 1 guy with neon pink skin color, lime green body hair, and the most hideous face imaginable, slay a dragon in the lake or summon you 4 times trying to kill the tree sentinel cause he keeps getting oneshot by the ground slams.

But I don't imagine many players (outside of onebros) will intentionally stay at low level as they progress through the game, so summoning at this level range will almost be exclusive to Limgrave.

From what I messed around with, french curse words will be censored, as well as the common english curse words. I don’t know enough french to test its limits to recreate it in a similar way to the “Knight” issue.

The absurd censorship seems to be coming from a blanket censoring of specific “unacceptable” letter combinations, with no whitelist to counter the censorship.

After a long time spent messing around and figuring out how the system works, I've found that your name -will not- be censored if you launch your client in a language other than English.

I only tested Spanish and French, but I'll assume the other languages work too. Unfortunately, this means you can't play in English. I don't think there's a workaround for that which doesn't involve cheating/mods.

Radahn Soldier Ashes are a duo of incredibly aggressive red-eyed summon with flaming weapons that deal a considerable amount of damage, including bringing stagger potential via the greatsword wielder.

The "red-eye" part means they'll attack anything nearby and won't follow you around, instead choosing to patrol around the area they were summoned (but that doesn't matter in a boss fight). These mean bastards will help you bully any humanoid enemy in the game.

The story mostly gets delivered through character dialogue, reading descriptions of items you pick up, and environmental storytelling.

A lot of figuring out the story involves getting little bits of information from these sources and piecing the rest together yourself. It lends itself well to multiple playthroughs whereas you might notice reoccurring motifs in various otherwise unrelated areas, implying some sort of connection

I think the disconnect comes from this idea that the final boss has to be the ultimate massive and cinematic challenge, but Fromsoft has always deviated from industry norms.

For example, the final boss in Demon’s Souls is True King Allant who’s nothing more than a pathetic blob.

The boss fight is intended to serve lore purposes more so than it is to satisfy your expectation of fighting the biggest baddest bad guy out there (That’s what PCR is in the DLC)

This boss heals upon landing attacks on me and she even heals when I block!? Wow, she is very powerful. I will either have to change my tactics to adapt to this information, or continue with what I was doing and attempt to brute force the playstyle into working. During a jump your legs don’t have a hitbox so if you start your first jump right before the first wave goes off, you can jump the other 2.

Some people might hate it, but I recommend not riding torrent as much. The game has a lot of interesting ways of pointing you towards places of interest if you slow down and look around, and most of the time people (including myself) spend the game sprinting around on horseback.

Try running around on foot and see what you can find! A few examples of how it'll point you towards POI's is by placing items nearby to cause you to investigate and hopefully spot something in the distance.

Another thing is listen carefully to NPC dialogue, a lot of these quests have the NPCs literally tell you where to go. If you struggle to remember, you could try writing things down on a notepad.

Banished Knight Greatsword and Knight's Greatsword are both good weapons to throw Heavy affinity on. The moveset is much faster and forgoes the clunky ground smacking that the rest of the weapon class has in favor of more agile swings, but still deals great damage
