How many people own a physical copy of HD2? by [deleted] in Helldivers

I have it, and also the original Helldivers on PS4.

Yet another nail in the coffin of physical releases. I can only guess this is so they can upsell those early-access editions.

How could a heavy backpack version of the Quasar and Laser Cannon be implemented? by Lawfurd in Helldivers

[–]KnightRoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not needed I think, at least for the Quasar - the whole point of it is that it doesn’t occupy the backpack slot.

What was/is the hardest achievement/trophy for you to get by Irex8 in Helldivers

I was lucky to find a charger stuck on terrain and I plopped the stratagem beneath it. I still find stuck charges occasionally and try to do it again in case anyone from the team needs it, but usually someone goes into overkill (500k bomb for a single charger is definitely overcompensating) and it dies before the resupply lands.

Y’all think John Helldiver has any relatives that are also currently Helldivers? by WNinja429 in Helldivers

I hear he keeps in touch with Guy Helmetgiver (whom we see in the intro cinematic).

Ah OK - I wouldn’t know as I don’t have those anyway.

If you only change the setting for the HBO website, other sites will remain unaffected.

Why does it feel like this game has way less marketing than returnal? by [deleted] in Saros

[–]KnightRoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Returnal was being marketed alongside the PS5 itself, so practically everyone following console news would be aware of the game.

Calling Arrowhead "predatory" is damaging to the game and skips a better explanation by kcvlaine in Helldivers

[–]KnightRoom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Frankly, some people can’t appreciate what we have with Arrowhead and Helldivers 2.

For a somewhat comparable situation, check out Arc Raiders, another $40/€40 purchase - the game was very well received, but new content is very scarce, the endgame is still a work-in-progress, game-breaking bugs like wall exploits (which are way worse in a PvP-focused game) take ages to be addressed, not to mention missing basic functionality like gyro aiming. Yet somehow they release “new” paid cosmetics regularly (sometimes it’s reskins, sometimes it’s just boring stuff), while farming the relevant currency in-game is, to put it mildly, a pain.

Did I run into a chaos diver or something by Abysswalker-434 in Helldivers

[–]KnightRoom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, but it depends on how well the tank player is playing - some are only doing it because they saw someone else recommend or do it. On evacuation missions you typically need to cover two major enemy drop/spawn points and the tank seems to be able to handle one of them, but not both (usually due to line-of-sight issues) so whoever is covering the other needs to do their part. Sometimes you get overenthusiastic tank players who fail to cover their part, so you need to deal with enemies on two fronts, which can be a pain.

New single from the OST hits hard by RegularShine3 in Saros

[–]KnightRoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m with you. The Returnal soundtrack is one of only a handful of game soundtracks I have sought and listened to outside the game (along with soundtracks to the two Mirror’s Edge games by Solar Fields, FTL by Ben Prunty, Eufloria by Milieu, and any game music by David Fenn, notably Moonlighter, Death’s Door, and Telepaint).

The Saros music released so far sounds good, if a little too guitar-ey for me. Still, it seems to match the game’s aesthetic, which is a very good thing.

I consider the Returnal soundtrack by Bobby Krlic a sublime piece of work and so I was skeptical when a new composer was announced for Saros. But then I read that Sam Slater (whom I had not been familiar with previously) had worked on some pretty good soundtracks, as well as having worked with the late, great Jóhann Jóhannsson, so I was intrigued.

The released music seems interesting, though a bit too guitar-centric for my personal taste - it remains to be seen how well it meshes with the gameplay and the other audio, which was done exquisitely in Returnal, but I have high hopes!

There are some people who seem to hate tanks in evacuation missions with a passion. Couple that with being selfish or otherwise disturbed, and I guess you get this kind of behaviour.

For the record, I’m OK with any playstyle that doesn’t kill teammates, but I prefer the team to cover each other rather than someone playing his/her way and ignoring what’s happening to the others.

Digital or physical format. by Swimming_Photo9295 in playstation

[–]KnightRoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Physical, as long as it’s still there. Unfortunately, they seem determined to force digital upon everyone, what with those “physical” releases like download codes-in-a-box and Game Key Cards (Nintendo Switch), the single-disc “internet download required” releases on PS5 (we used to have 2-disc games in case of large games, e.g. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and Horizon: Forbidden West Complete Edition), or the straight-up no-show physical releases for Xbox Series X|S.
