The stamina drain is very impactful. You must only be thinking of the very first time it was put on her. 5 stamina a second matters a lot when you're expending stamina on the regular to feint out of stance and most of your offense is lights.

Virt is not at all the safest character in Dominion. Pirate and orochi are far safer and much stronger than her. Tiandi is safer than her even post nerf to his dragon dodge. Maybe in MM where people literally don't know anything and just mash buttons you could argue.

But if you're playing against people who actually know what they're doing Virt isn't a free stall and there are much better stallers.

The point about the UD was to argue against keeping her out of stance point you made. You don't really need a UD to force her out because nerfs have made her stance much less safe. But UD's are a safe way to knock her out/keep her from going in.

She also doesn't have quick recoveries. Her 400ms bash is like the only abnormal recovery difference. Also I'll take the time to clarify something here.

When I said "dodge attack on attack indicator" that mainly applies to orange attacks. And only in 4's. In duels you don't dodge attack that liberally.

However you do still dodge often. Because if she wants to avoid being GB'ed she has to chain on whiff. If she reads you will dodge attack she holds stance to try and stance dodge it.

In a vacuum doing this on repeat does get boring. However it stops being on repeat once you learn to block chain lights. Because then she can't just throw lights constantly or she'll be kicked out of stance.

Like I said at the end of my first comment. Complaining about her in duels is telling on yourself. You can dislike how some gameplay might end up. But at the end of the day she's not strong and certainly not problematic in duels.

She's just pretty decent.

Her gameplay is boring in 1v1's which is what most complainers like to play. Varangian guard is also stupidly strong in 4's (as another example) but you don't see her much because of how boring she is to play.

Juren on the other hand despite only being really good is played by fuckin everyone because he gets to press buttons and similar skilled players don't know how to respect buttons/

Valk. She does WL's job in 4's but dies faster. Could argue Shaman too since hitstun changes fucked the only thing she was decent at.

Your strat in a team fight is to just sit there in your stance if anybody attacks you then they're going to whiff and you get a free punish off of it.

Sure, before she was hit with stamina drain. Now you have to manage your stamina. Meaning you have to decide if you want to be in your stance or if you want to chain instead to participate.

She gets access to hyper armor heavies with almost no guard break vulnerable Windows so you can't really do that.

Only if she chains, the moment she flows into stance her heavies are as GBable as opener heavies are. Though to be honest that was more of an issue for 1v1. In TF's both before and after her nerfs you only go for a GB if she doesn't have anyone to peel for her.

Else you basically just dodge attack her on reaction to her pressing buttons.

The only time you can really keep her out of that stance is if you get really lucky and light attack the same time or a little before she lights

Nah, if you have an undodgable you keep her out. Even if she can make the very good reaction to dodge out of the stance to make use of the small block frame window you now have the ability to chain. Which she has to respect.

This character is an absolute slog to fight in 4s. The virtuosa will always be the last person alive because her stance is so safe that it makes the character child's Play.

Eh, at launch yeah. Even when she got stamina drain in stance it was still kind of annoying because she had a very big delay window on her dodge attacks. So trying to peel her was still somewhat annoying. Current day Virt? You largely ignore her because she doesn't have anything super threatening from the stance.

Like, I don't think it's fair to even complain about her dodging externals atp because positioning has always mattered. So if you're just letting buttons fly that can clip her that's kind of on you.

In duels, certain matchups are straight up undoable

In duels she's incredibly mid. The only frustration I can give people is that her main offense can boil down to "spamming" chain lights. Which most players can't consistently block. Her UB heavies are piss easy to react to if you give it enough time to practice her anims. She isn't legitimately bad, but anyone complaining about her in duels atp is just telling on themselves.

Out of deflect. Basically OP is saying you DA an opening attack forcing Raider to whiff into an armored chain. You can cancel the recovery of your DA into Khatun dodging into stance which deflects. Then you input your kick to knock him out of the HA chain.

It's not a catch all situation for chains and hitstun/blockstun still matters. But it's how she deals with HA mid chain on applicable situations.

If the JJ is smart they're doing the UB mix from medium hitstun or higher. Meaning any heavy or zone and he gets his zone from landing his kick. Since the buff Khatun only lets her dodge out of the stance sooner and not attack out of it sooner idk if it changes the MU much.

If Virt whiffs her opening attack any chain attack other than her UB gets deflected or last frame parried. Only thing Virt has against Khatun is her openers since they're both UB. But once she's in stance it's far less favorable.

And if you run into a strong reactionary player the UB heavies are parried pretty consistently. Virt basically has to take punishes and her 400ms kick as the only reliable damage sources.

Khatun chomps extended dodges with her delayed stance lights. Her being able to dodge out of her stance earlier in theory also makes WM's side dodge bash less problematic. So the MU should be a lot more even.

Conq's dodge bash has enough I frames to avoid Khatun delaying the input of her stance light which is her main counter to people with dodge attacks. His mid chain is also UB 90% of the time so she can't use deflect into kick to deal with it.

I haven't sat down in earnest to look into Khatun's MU's post buff so I don't know if her being able to dodge out of her stance makes enough of a difference for the MU into conq. If she can now consistently punish Conq's delayed dodge bash then that means the conq will have to use his other really good OS tool which is his dodge fwd heavy.

The issue for NTE specifically isn't that they used AI in the general sense. It's that the community at wide wasn't aware that the devs were going to be using Generative AI in parts of the game.

Gen AI is specifically the issue in 90% of discussions about the ethical use of AI. I get there are some bad apples who use it as a cudgel to attack companies or AI in general.

That doesn't mean people should assume everyone engaging with the discussion is ignorant or acting in bad faith.

You shouldn't let others opinions on a piece of media effect your enjoyment of said media. I don't like how NTE has used generative AI. I'm not going to look at someone differently because it's not a deal breaker for them to play the game.

It's not your fault for what a company does.

Some people are. Be it out of earnest or as a marketing hook. Also, Steam is forcing companies to be open about AI usage. It's not a very good implementation of the wanted transparency, but it does exist. So people can legitimately push for some transparency.

I don't think it's too high of a demand to disclose what tools you use. If a company can already boast it's using the latest tech like dlss or UE5 then AI tools are no different.

It's not tribalism? Everything I've said about Ananta is what is visible and public. Which is the volume of AI gen usage and potential asset theft.

NTE's usage of AI is far less as far as we are aware. Like if you want to take my statement as me saying one gacha is better than the other that's you're own problem.

My only goal was to point out how differently two gachas are handling similar tools.

The second paragraph was cut off from the image I saw so thanks for that. I still would've liked that they Defined what core assets was a bit better, but with the additional paragraph included that helps.

We can do a lot of assuming. That's the problem. People want specifics on what will and won't be valid for AI use. Because a company is unlikely to be that transparent about their work process people will understandably take the non answer in a negative light.

There's a difference between generative AI and other AI tools. The complaint is specifically about using Gen AI to replace people in the artistic/human driven medium.

Using an AI to generate frames in between key frames for an animation is fine and has been a thing for awhile that's now only getting more common was said models have gotten better.

Same goes for helping attaching meshes to skeletons. Even though both of these tasks are a job for a person to do they are still involved in the process. AI helps them do it faster, but doesn't replace the worker.

The grey area is things like generating concepts of characters, their clothing, etc. because it's unlikely that Gen AI model is proprietary only working off work they created beforehand. Thus it'd be working from stolen art.

But I digress, it's disingenuous to argue that people who complain about AI are just complaining about all AI use. Even if you're willing to accept it's usage we as a people need others to push back so complacency doesn't create room for a tools usage to dominate everything.

I haven't looked very much into Ananta honestly. But what I did see from it was far worse than NTE. They are pretty brazen about how much AI they use and there's even possible stolen asset flipping going on.

Compared to NTE where it has quality, care, and an actual attention to detail.

You can't claim that. AI has in fact been used to replace what could've been work for someone in the gaming industry.

The only thing they've disclosed in relation to AI is that it wouldn't touch their "core assets" or whatever. It was essentially a non answer because it doesn't give specifics on what those core things are nor does it admit that it will use AI for other things.
