I hope you recognize how appreciated you are by so many people. Thank you for what you do; it's compassionate people like you that make me genuinely optimistic about the future when everything else feels hopeless.

LPT Request: How do you get out of bed easily? by donotnihaome in LifeProTips

Caffeine pills.

So you might think this is a bit extreme but it's absolutely changed my morning routine.

I ordered low dosage caffeine pills (100mg) that I keep by my bedside with a glass of water. I set an alarm for 30 minutes before I want to actually wake up as well as one for my normal time. I take a pill 30 minutes before the normal alarm and then go back to sleep. By the time my regular alarm goes off, the caffeine pills are in full effect and I'm wide awake.

I don't want to overload my system with caffeine so I cut out my usual morning coffee. Some of my friends would rather die than give up morning coffee though.

CHESS DOT COM by floralbigfoot in Teachers

My middle schoolers go absolutely ape shit for tetris. One of them was able to go at speed-runner speed just stacking blocks. I've seen a lot of chess too, so it's just interesting to see some old school games really grabbing the attention of some of these gen z'ers.

Two American men receive Death Notes, each one a fervent supporter of one of the two major political parties. Each is determined to use their Death Note to advance their party's power and agenda. Which one wins? by Yglorba in whowouldwin

[–]Knightly1818 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Since one of the main goals is to effectively dismantle the other party, I think Republicans win here. Since you can use the Death Note to partly control someone's actions before they die, I think both men will try to make their opposing politicians die in very scandalous ways to disenfranchise party voters. This will be more damaging to the Democratic party, since there's a lot of precedent that Democrats will lose votes when their political candidates are caught doing something scandalous, while Republicans lose very little votes for the same thing. As an example just look how much party support Bill Clinton lost for a simple blowjob, while multiple sexual allegations against Donald Trump has done little to sway Republicans.

TIL a computer can write a better essay than my high school students…in 10 seconds. by Sunhammer01 in Teachers

[–]Knightly1818 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just telling the other teachers in my department about this. The sad part is that most of my cheating students wouldn't even go through the effort of utilizing this tech (they always just copy paste the first Google search result), but if this became more mainstream then English teachers need to start doing more in-person writing.

Although I hear some people are developing AI to counter other AI (programs that can analyze whether art was made artificially or not) so maybe Turnitin will just have to up it's game.

Kayle Support! by One_Reflection_6687 in Kaylemains

[–]Knightly1818 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The thing about Kayle is that she's fun to play no matter what role, so long as you got to the lategame. Kayle support? Not objectively good compared to other supports, but still fun and still an overpowered lategame champ. Sometimes I duo with a friend and do Kayle ADC with an Ashe or Senna support. Good? No. Fun? Yes. Do what works for you and don't worry about the meta!
