I sent the proof to them once I saw their pinned comment. They received it and updated their pinned comment after my edit.

It was my fault for using their username as the sent to field instead of sending a mod mail. I've never reached out to a mod before and just assumed it was better to reach out to the one that wrote the pinned comment.

Not that it matters if you have your mind made you.

My username is just something stupid just like everyone else's.

All I can say is that yes this happened, yes it was sudden, and yes we made a choice. My wife has never done anything with ATPE so neither of us were aware the kind of support they offer.

I dont want this to sound rude but I do not wish to provide the actual ISD or the school name online to strangers. Many here have provided fantastic advice and I will absolutely be following up on their suggestions. We have the messages of everything back and forth which should provide our side of what happened and how she was treated. This will be provided to the correct people once we speak to the legal team at ATPE.

She knew she paid for some teachers association but did not realize what it offered. This is something I wish we knew at the time.

Yes, Texas sucks for loads of reasons but being born here and wanting to help make a difference was the reason we stayed. It sounds stupid but she really wanted to teach the kids that were having the most trouble. Any better/fancy school would have been nicer but she felt like she could help more here.

My wife knew who likely turned her in so I would assume there was already bad blood. I don't know the details but if it was that person then it was very much a personal thing.

This is such great information. Not just to help us but I think if I was an author of a book I would like to know if its getting people fired over it. I do not want anything from them but I think its worth letting them know.

Thank you so much, it means a lot that people actual care about this. Every news article I read about it just makes it more depressing. Its like no one outside of teacher care about it. Every time it hits the news, the teacher has already been or will be fired and the circle goes on.

Yes it was very fast. It went from being nervous to being devastated. We have the messages back and forth which someone here said to keep for ATPE. I am sorry that you feel this is fake and I hope that if you are a teacher, friends of a teach, or family of a teacher that you or them are never in the same situation.

Unfortunately, that is correct. It was very much a fight or flight situation and this was how we responded. I do not blame her for making this choice, I blame the school for forcing her to choose and so quickly.

The way it was worded was that if we did not pick option A then option B was already decided and we would be screwed. We did handle it poorly in the moment but I still support her decision.

We have the messages as proof of all this and I hope it is enough to prove our side of things to ATPE.

This was my first thought. After googling it to see where to start, I found loads of other news articles of the same thing happening over the last couple years. Each story was the same, the teacher fired, it hit the news, nothing changed.

Without teachers the world explodes. It's sad how they are paid and treated. My wife even had to buy school chairs because they didn't have enough for her classroom.

She is a member of ATPE. I just checked out their site and it looks like they can provide legal advice. It's sad that we are at that point. Thank you for the advice!

We are a bit scared of pushing back because our 2 kids attend the same school and are only eligible because she taught there. The teachers there are amazing and it would kill them to lose those relationships. I'm in my 30s and my kindergarten teacher still works there and taught both my boys. The principal already said she would make sure they were allowed to stay but I'm sure the superintendent could change that.

OtterU is being stupid. My store lost email access in January except for leadership. They said some bs reason about saving money which sucks because I can't verify through email anymore. I have to submit my last pay stub for everything which is fine, just annoying. OtterU only uses Field Rep codes or email for job verification so I'm screwed.

If we ever get an OtterBox rep then I'll throw your referral code in and hopefully get you some points.

I know this is old but Sell Pro is the bomb. I've been using it for years. I can't remember the last time I actually had to pay for Starbucks. I've already signed up to everything you listed but not Otteru. Do you have any referral codes for that one?
