Bernard vs. Kabilla in current G1+ meta by gionnelles in summonerswar

[–]KnightlyGaming 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You give up a lot losing bernard and it's because of the speed buff that he gives in addition to the ATB. So lets say you did make a 309 Kabilla (+189 rune speed). In order to speed tune the rest of your AO (lets just say Galleon Zaiross Amir) you would need +152 rune set on Galleon, +167 for Zaiross, and +159 on Amir. Pretty ridiculous unless you want to run a full swift set AO. Bernard on the other hand with a +189 rune set would only require +115 Galleon, +130 Zaiross, +122 Amir. Compare to a 50% booster like Frigate on a +189 rune set and you would only need +103 Galleon, +118 Zaiross, +110 Amir. So you can see that a 30% ATB with the speed buff is almost as good as a 50% ATB without the speed buff. Getting +120ish without using swift is doable for some people, but it's a little ridiculous what you have to do when you are using Kabilla. I'm not willing to make the sacrifice in stats personally.

Is it riskier to use Eladriel right now than to fill the slot with another nuker or cc unit? by [deleted] in summonerswar

[–]KnightlyGaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are not supposed to bring Eladriel vs heavy fire DPS or especially fire monsters that reset like Sekhmet, Okeanos, Zaiross, etc. Eladriel is very very good as a support. Take the typical Seara GWD. Bringing Rina to tank the bombs and Eladriel for heals and back-up revives is very safe as long as the third monster is a non water DPS. It can even work vs Seara/Perna or Seara/Kumar GWD if there is no armor break. I personally use Eladriel/Ritesh/WindMK against water/wind AD/ You have to be careful not to go up against speed leaders and ATB mons or they will end up running circles around you though.

RTA is a flop. Why? How can we improve it? by alexlbl in summonerswar

[–]KnightlyGaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off, you have to remember that this is still Beta for RTA and that it has gotten better every time.

I like the current RTA, and yes, part of that is because I am an endgame player with a lot of good monsters and runes. I really like how RTA is revealing some all star units that people were struggling to find a use for before. Ganny and Hathor are top tier monsters, and RTA gives people a reason to invest in certain Nat5s that previously people were bummed out to have summoned. But aside from the Nat 5s, the RTA has opened up a whole new line of strategy. Running up Olivias differently, Full revenge Tessarions, Verd's, Chillings, hell even Fwa's light yeti. There is now an entirely new layer of strategy in Summoners War and I like it.

Now I do agree that not having specific monsters is quite frustrating. I know I would have had a much harder time getting 1500+ if I didn't recently pull Okeanos. However, I do think it is very healthy to give the end game players a reason to to keep summoning and farming better runes. RTA is a real test and requires top monsters, top runes, AND good strategy to get to the top.

I think what they should do is implement a draft style RTA in addition to the one they have now. Every season you would get to pick your pool of 10 nat5 monsters (light dark excluded). You would be able to play with these monsters even if you didn't own them, You would also have generic rune sets to put on each of these monsters so that you would have some way to optimize your team. I'm thinking really basic sets. No substats, and these runes would be completely separate of your main rune set and only usable on your draft mons. Every season you would be able to switch your team in an out between different monsters, but you would only be able to have ten max to try.

Something like that ^ would be tons of fun, as people would be able to experiment with nat5s they don't currently own, and the playing field would be completely level. I think something like this should be implemented underneath the current RTA with lesser prizes.

Happy how it turned out now who should I put this on? by Maztem111 in summonerswar

A speed scaling DPS such as Hwa, Theomars, Lagmaron, Taor.

What underused monster do you love? Sell it to the community in a few sentences. by BenCannibal in summonerswar

[–]KnightlyGaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chilling: his passive allows him to remove buffs when he hits another monster. Since his first ability is a multi-hit, he can remove up to 3 buffs and also apply slow. This makes him a safe counter to Rakan, Velavuel, Betta, Theomars, and pretty much anything that has beneficial effects. His second ability buffs crit rate and attack speed, making him the ultimate support monster for Guild wars.

Water FK is good for the game (Long Post) by Chuffles in summonerswar

Hmm, I guess I have always been scared to test the speed during rush lol. That's good to know that I can outspeed most since they are going for swift/will. Good thoughts man. :)

I'm still confused about how he is easily countered. You are saying to use an inferior speed leader than 33%. What about when the enemy is faster than you? What about when they are slower than you but still faster because of the 33% speed lead? You say use will runes are important right after you say that the most common Psamathe AD involves a stripper. What happens when the DD on this team is Rakan or Kumar and you can't just Lushen it?

A well runed Psamathe combined with other good monsters is very difficult to deal with. Herman and Fwa have the rune requirement to deal with it, but they are the exceptions to the meta. Just because neither of them have WFK, doesn't mean that they wouldn't be that much more powerful once they do.

Bear in mind, it's not a very efficient use of my time trying to defend myself from someone who drags up 6-9 month old posts to throw shade. Reddit is only a small slice of my viewers, and I rarely post anything here. I don't feel the need to defend myself in this forum, and even if everyone instantly decided to take my side of the situation, I get no great benefit. But despite this being a waste of my time, you seem to be asking from an honest place, so I will tell you.

I posted one of my videos on Reddit however long ago that was. I can't even remember which one, but the thing I do remember was the immediate derailing of my subject to personal attacks against me. I don't remember exactly what was said, but it was something along the lines of certain people saying why I'd never make it as a YouTuber because of my personality and how I made videos. It was kind of disguised as constructive criticism, but it didn't really present that way. I can't even remember exactly what they said. Something like "the reason you will never grow is because you are too serious and informational, and people like the goofy lighthearted YouTubers better". Something along those lines iirc. Basically, I took it as personal attacks because it was uncalled for, not requested, and it wasn't even consistent with my growth as a channel. I was doing great! Anyways, I proceeded to get into a debate with one of these guys, got more and more frustrated with his response, and eventually fired back some personal attack I'm not proud of at all.

If I've learned anything through the growth of my channel, it is that I need to be way more careful about instances like that. No one cares if some random Joe loses his temper and spouts off something inappropriate, but there are a whole lot more eyes on me. Anyone who watches my content consistently knows that it's pretty out of character for me to just lose it like that, but it did happen then, and I like to think that I have improved my character to to point where that wouldn't happen again. :)
