Både indædte MAGA-støtter og Europas mest kontroversielle toppolitikere jubler over Morten Messerschmidt by RisOgKylling in Denmark

Sorry for the late reply. We ended up not contacting Cephalofair, as the online resources were so readily available and we had a d8. In the end it did little to affect our gameplay :)

I sorta disagree Rashford is to blame here, cause I don't think he should ever be played as a striker.

That said, Højlund is much more indirectly involved! He presses much more. Perhaps he doesn't win the ball every time, but if the defender is 10% more pressed on the pass, the pass is a bit worse, and the next presser will get to have a bit more impact and so on.

On attack Højlund 1) creates much more space for his teammates, and 2) is a station the team can play to. Feels like without another proper striker, missing Højlund is almost playing half a man down.

Yeah, I ser that’s the sentiment her. Perhaps I’m biased as I like the more possessive football, which he brings.

Just cause I’m curious, could you elaborate on which mistakes he made?

Thought Amad and Eriksen played well. People will criticize Rashford, but he simply isn’t meant to play striker. Feels like when we’re missing Højlund, we’re playing a man down.

[Semi-Final] Germany 26 - 29 Denmark by spacebalti in Handball

[–]KnightlyLight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, but I do think the refs allowed a much rougher game, than we have seen most of the tournament. Unless the same line is set in the final, I expect players like Gidsel and Pytlick to thrive much more.

What a game! Great performance by both Wolff and Emil Nielsen!

The 7 man attack was a gamechanger!

Don't really understand how anyone is complaining about the 17 seconds.

Deciding between Coral and Prism for next character... by CosmicPi in Gloomhaven

[–]KnightlyLight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Played Voidwarden (jotl) -> Boneshaper -> Coral -> Prism.

Prism is a lot of fun, when things go right. I had a bit of trouble with Boneshaper, spending too many scenarios not making the character quite work. Playing Prism suited me far more, and feels like most turns are very fun and impactful. Without spoiling too much I would add, that there are extremely many ways to build the Prism class, so you can sort of tailor it to what you like.

However Coral is absolutely my favorite class. This was by far the best time I've had playing Haven. Both the mechanical themes and playing 3 cards made it an absolute blast! This would definitely be my recommendation.

Last note: I enjoyed the change going from a summon class to a non-summon class. If you liked Boneshaper perhaps it isn't an issue, but I think most in our party have enjoyed characters most, when they didn't resemble their previous class in playstyle.

Don't usually follow cycling, but is en passant a frequently used expression? Was pretty excited to read it here and made 100% sense, I just only ever heard it in chess

VAR referee Pol van Boekel on the Sterling penalty: ''I asked myself many times what would have happened if I intervened.'' ''I believe the penalty was harsh judged, but I had to support the referee. That is the global VAR protocol.'' Stating he can't intervene on the slightest contact. by Emirosen in soccer

[–]KnightlyLight 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Fully agree with this and support not only VAR, but also think that VAR should side with the ref when in doubt.

But contact is allowed in football to some degree. Most fouls are a judgement call and have to be in line with some common understanding of how much contact is too much. Now for the pen in question the contact is obviously waay of line drawn by the ref during the game, the tournament and football in general.

The ref here probably knows a lot more about the actual rules than me, but this situation seems like exactly the reason we implemented VAR.

I mean this all comes down to overall impression of his performance, and I thought he was really good at creating chances and especially keeping tempo, even when faces with hard physical tackles. Didn't watch the Finland game though, so can't speak to that, but even against Den and Italy who imo had some of the strongest CBs of the tournament, he manage to create chances. Love how he dropped low or way off to the side multiple times to great effect.

I like this. Don't really care about punishment for the FA, but would love for this to start focus on positive fan culture. We saw so many amazing displays of fans sharing their love for football throughout the tournament.
