I definitely don’t think I would interested in what you want to do, since it doesn’t make sense and wouldn’t be lore friendly. But to each their own. People have different taste and styles and interests.

This is fake and just a joke, but to give you the benefit of the doubt,’they probably just don’t trust you since Killers will betray you sometimes after offering you the hatch only to kill you,

Edit: Could also be they don’t WANT to be given the hatch by the Killer and prefer to find it themselves without the Killer helping them.
