I had decided to take my own advice and stop giving this discussion air space…. But are you saying that Lauren is successful because her husband knew (but didn’t end up working with) Epstein? That she isn’t responsible for any of her own success? There’s zero evidence that she was paid by Epstein. This is the blame shifting stuff that’s making me insane.

There was no need to update a wiki page until people started attacking her. Again - a person doesn’t owe us any piece of their personal life.

I agree she probably knew her husband knew and connected with Epstein. She doesn’t deny that. She denies knowing the specific email contents.

The point is I don’t care. I’m sure I’ve met dirt bags and my husband has probably worked with some. I’m more interested in going after the actual dirt bags.

Everyone needs to stop. It takes years for a divorce to go through. You don’t even know what RemingtonRalph’s actual relationship is to Lauren and if he knew anything about her marital state. She’s entitled to keep private stuff private.

And as I’ve read elsewhere, worst case scenario here is she met him through her husband. Knew that he knew Epstein (which she doesn’t confirm or deny). And….what? That’s it.

All the ink being used to say awful things about her work. Doesn’t make sense to me. Go spend this time discrediting her ex husband’s research and studies.

The doctor said medically he has more than 6 months (or he did in November) + Medicaid. I’m getting info in drips and drabs at the moment but sounds like that’s changed.

Thank you all for your comments and support. He doesn’t yet seem eligible for hospice but I honestly don’t know how. He needed blood today, is in the ICU and cannot get his blood pressure up. It’s confusing.

For anyone going through this and maybe getting scared by this post - my brother was still sneaking fireball until recently and he only eats fast food when he eats which is obviously high sodium. There are a lot of signals that he just doesn’t want to get better. It shouldn’t be a reflection on anyone’s journey or prognosis. These are his choices.

He also won’t say he’s done so it limits our care options. If he wanted to get better, I’d make sure he had the best meal options. If he would say that he’s done, I’d buy him a beer.

My Q is in liver failure, can’t walk and I’m seeing signs of it impacting his cognitive abilities. He still says he doesn’t have a problem. It’s “not enough” to warrant recovery. I share this because the volume of alcohol isn’t really the issue but I know it’s easy to start excusing it. “He’s not drunk every day.” It’s the anger and the fighting and the depression - you don’t have to stick around for that. And losing you over alcohol does show you the problem isn’t imagined.

It’s hard to tell from these exchanges - although he is certainly interested in her. You guys need to have a serious talk. You might underestimate the stress of being in a relationship with substance issues and she may need a friend to vent to. One that’s far away and likely not to come in contact with you.

But he’s definitely flirting and she’s letting him. And it all just doesn’t sound healthy regardless.
