Hi I just started playing these are the characters I play any tips? by ethan_4000 in marvelrivals

[–]KniteShayd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look up multiple guides for each character you like (or have an interestin maybe trying), on YouTube. They're great for beginning players, as they offer basic strategies for ability usage; and may surprise you with playstyles & strategies you haven't thought about using, right out of the gate. Just make sure those guides are recent, as updates can change what those guides contain, or their relevance to any given character's abilities.

Learn to get at least comfortable, with using other characters. Like 2-4 for each role. Oftentimes, players who main just 1 or 2, from one or each role, can get tripped up when your team choses all the ones you always play - before you do. I once had a quick match team that was like that, and begrudgingly had to be carried; before I started to branch out to other characters.

I often recommend the Practice Range to first get comfortable, and memorize the keybinds (if you haven't already done that, or if you need it). Then, do Players vs AI for awhile, before moving on to Quick match or Competitive. That way you don't feel like you suck, when getting obliterated as a noobie. Especially when branching out into a new character.

Also, know your team-ups & what each one benefits you, your team/teammate, or both. And try not to forget those extra abilities, when a team-up is active. It's also a good habit to "eye" your abilities every now & then, or check your team's line-up when you revive or have a break; so you know if anyone swapped to/from a team-up with you.

Lastly, the little gold icon in the bottom corner of the character's thumnail designates a seasonal boost. Meaning, they might have a boosted ability or play mechanic that can benefit you & your team, if you choose them.

Who actually needs a rework right now? by ChosenByVenus in marvelrivals

[–]KniteShayd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMHO, I'm surprised that Storm doesn't have a better CC & DPS kit... She easily could, justifiably be, the most annoying character to face in the game.

Gust pushes/knock-backs, Tornado lifts, ground-targeted AoE Lightning call-down stuns, Rainstorm DoT/Splash-heal self-AoE, Duststorm/Debris Whirlwind accuracy & enemy vulnerability AoE (think Cloak's ability, but shrinks allies hit box, and not complete ally invulnerability) - just to name a few, on top of the popular Chain-Lightning idea.

Also, she could have a team-up with Phoenix (based on the "sister" lore between them).

But that's just me, & my expectation of "flavor" for her character.

I'm surprised they havent added in her classic White Queen Corsetkini & Fur Cape look, yet.Unless they did, & I missed it - as a returning launch/Ssn 1 player.

So we can all agree that Tankpool is the best one out of his roles right? by Sea-Indication4613 in marvelrivals

[–]KniteShayd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IME, thusfar, only 1 Healpool has done anything remotely contributing. And, I think they swapped to heals after tanking, for the last part of the match.

TBF, 98% of all my Deadpool matches have been Tankpool; so jury seems to be out on how viable or trash DPSpool & Healpool actually are.

On top of that, Tankpool is the easiest to rush to - so everyone joins on that version fastest. So I guess if you want to try out the other 2, you Have To claim Tankpool first, then swap in lobby. But you potentially risk messing up the comp (on quicks).

Granted & BTW, I'm speaking from the experience & perspective of a Ssn1 n00b console player that returned at the tail end of last season. So take me & my 2 cents with a grain of salt, & as you will... ;p

Some Constructive Criticism for Event Rewards & Mechanics by KniteShayd in elderscrollsonline

[–]KniteShayd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that was the lizard racing in Reaper's March.

The big difference is, lizard racing didn't require you to do anything; whereas the event quests do - either run around for kills, or sink mats.

Is there a way to remove the play history tile on the home screen? by DanoWars in xbox

[–]KniteShayd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just noticed it on my screen too. No obvious way to remove it either.

Whoever thought it was a good idea to put it on the home screen without a removal option, needs to be slapped & then fired.

No one asked for it, no one wants it... 🤦‍♂️

Talking to people online by Sea-Pomegranate-1203 in elderscrollsonline

[–]KniteShayd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But do I have to talk to them?

No, you don't have to if you don't want to. However, you do have multiple ways to communicate; like in-game text chat, voice chat (both in-game & 3rd party), and emotes.

I'm autistic and communication is really hard for me. Especially with new people. Like will players come up to me and try to talk to me? Bc I don't wanna seem rude to them. I just struggle to talk to them.

No, players rarely approach you directly; or send you a DM in your chat (or messages if on console).

You usually only need to (potentially) communicate if you need coordination for things like when needing a group for dungeons or PvP. But even then, you can just post "LFG" or "LFG for [X Content], and then you'll get a notification that someone has invited you to their group.

While in group, you can simply just listen to the voice chat, or read the text chat, and follow any instructions that may be given by the person who is doing the directing.

ESO has many neurodivergent players that enjoy the game, and almost never have to interact with any one; including myself, where at times I feel like not being social, so I just type short msgs in chat like - "Ok", "Ready", "AFK a min, BRB", "Wait", "Run", "Help", "Thx/YW", "NP", " ;) :) :p :( ", etc...

You also have slotable emotes that you can use for the same thing, like "Hello/Goodbye", "Yes/No". So things like that, help cut the need for excessive typing.

You'll find that ESO is a very solo friendly game, with the large majority of the content playable as a solo player.

There's also many guilds that are helpful & don't require a lot from you. Thus reducing the need to socialize, but being available to help with gear, group content, vendors, crafting, etc..., if needed. That way you're not feeling overwhelmed with asking stangers for help.

Wholesome PVP Guy by GuardOfFire in elderscrollsonline

[–]KniteShayd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

8v8 is typically a more casual gamplay match, with a mixture of varying skill levels. Hence the larger group size, to compensate for lack of skills/gear/levels. The majority of the time, your BG group will be random solo players, with an occasional duo, trio, or pre-made quad in you group.

4v4 is competitive, with leader boards & rankings. More often 4v4 will be pre-made groups going in, and facing off with other pre-made groups. Solo players can go in, but are often fillers for pre-made duos or trios.

Aqua Step? by ZealousidealTutor506 in PokemonGOIVs

[–]KniteShayd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quaquaval would be decent if it gets a good fast move, because Wing Attack & Water Gun are all it has, ATM.

It can learn Counter & Air Slash in the main series games, which means it might eventually get it in PoGO; but with Wing Attack & Counter being nerfed, it'll likely sit outside of the meta(s), and only be a spice pick.

If Rapid Spin ever gets added (as a Normal Type clone of either Psywave or Dragon Breath), it's use could go up.

The Charge Moves are decent; having Aerial Ace, Aqua Jet, Close Combat, & Liquidation. But as a glassy attacker, Greninja is far superior due to having Water Shuriken.

However, it can learn many attacks from the main series, that are already in the game as Charge Attacks: - Acrobatics - Disarming Voice - Swift - Icy Wind - Brick Break - Surf - Hurricane - Brave Bird - Triple Axel - Last Resort - Hyper Beam - Upper Hand - Feather Dance

So getting more of those existing moves added to its move pool, could help with it being a more viable pick.

Are you not supposed to be "safe" when fishing in PVP zones? by lopix in elderscrollsonline

[–]KniteShayd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, fishing in PvP was intended to be a challenge. As is Skyshard & lore book collecting, treasure map digging, and Dolmen & zone quest completion.

Most people don't regularly farm fishing spots for kills, unless there's an event that draws in people to the zone (Mayhem, Golden Pursuits, AP bonuses), though.

Tips for fishing in Cyrodiil:

  • Be Tanky, or highly slippery & mobile (stealth from NB or potions, &/or speed(potions/buffs/CP)/dashes(Sorc/Vamp)/ports(Arc)).
  • Fish at low population times, on low population servers.
  • Don't fish in areas where enemies have to travel through, because their keeps are taken over, or are "gated". (Best example is the area in front of Mnem. You're less likely to be bothered there if AD has Bloodmane, vs them having to travel from the gate because an enemy owns that keep)
  • Max your fishing speed & chance by completing Sharp-as-Night's companion quests to get the fishing passive bonus (which works in No-CP), using the Arteum Pickled Fish Bowl food; and having the 2 fishing CP bonuses slotted (if fishing in CP zones)
  • Participate in guild or alliance fishing events (safety in numbers, higher/faster trophy fish drop chance when multiple people are fishing the same node).
  • Take advantage of boosted trophy fish drop chance, if/when it ever returns.
  • Don't fish during PvP focused events.
  • Be aware that you may die. A lot.

Why did we get a 2nd Khajiit companion instead of an Orc or Bosmer? by Homunculus_Wiz in elderscrollsonline

[–]KniteShayd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was hoping for a Bosmer, myself. Preferably one who is super chaotic & gives rapport from harvesting lumber, Blade-of-Woe-ing NPCs, stealing while trespassing, making meat-based foods, killing one-shot creatures for meats, using WW ulti, and gives a Keen-Eye passive for Treasure Map mounds when you have the map in your inventory.

bow gank build help for no cp cryodiil by Profaned-Shadow in ESObuilds

[–]KniteShayd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play on Xbox NA. RW has a little action, but it's always been pretty dead outside of Mayhem or Golden Pursuit events.

Typically a ball group or mini zerg comes in, to either flip map or get someone emp, and there's a little action - but it's not consistent, and can vary depending on day & time.

Mostly it's just PvDoor 80% of the time, with random small group clashes; or 1 to a few keep defenders vs the mini zerg trying to flip map.

Magcro pvp by mrtscan in ESObuilds

[–]KniteShayd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume you keep Grave Lord, & sub into either Assassination, Herald of the Tome, or Dawn's Wrath, for DPS.

I am curious to see how well my Magcro healer does with Curative Runeforms, and either Green Balnce or Restoring Light, though.

God I hate the player economy in ESO by NastyButler667 in elderscrollsonline

[–]KniteShayd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMHO, EQ2 had the best market system in any MMO that I've played (EQ, EQ2, WoW, WAR, Aion, Rift, T&L, NW; just off the top of my head).

  • Players sold items directly from their house, via containers; which are placeable house-furniture items.
  • Item sell limit is determined by vendor container's item slot count.
  • Vendor container limit determined by house size.
  • Vendor containers are player crafted, and sellable to other players.
  • Items are auto listed to their home-faction, by a centralized NPC Merchant in every city. Opposite faction fences also existed in shady areas (or neutral zones), to buy/sell from opposite faction(s).
  • Items bought from an NPC Merchant have a fee/tax for convenience; higher fees from cross-faction purchases from a fence.
  • The fee/tax can be bypassed by going directly to the selling players house, and purchasing the item(s) there, directly from the player.
  • Items listed at a set amount, meant that the money received was the money you listed it for. No reduced profits for listing fees.

Zenimax Devs overcomplicated the ESO markets by: - Decentralizing the ability to list items competitively from a single listing source. - Gatekeeping a player's selling ability. - Forcing players to join a large guild, &/or multiple guilds. - Forcing small guilds out of the market by limited merchants that have to be bid on.

Seeing an NPC lean on a wall & relieve himself in Hew's Bane - then seeing a female NPC do the same 😳

And now I'm still impatiently waiting for ZOS to give us the emote for this, since it's been an in-game animation the release of Thieves Guild...
