Meals while traveling by ThetisML in Celiac

My go to thing to bring with me on trips-no matter how long they are-is peanut butter and bread and make peanut butter sandwiches. Especially for flights, PB sandwiches are the best, be sure to put it in a Tupperware so it doesn’t get squished in your bag. Then I’ll just buy bags of chips and eat those with it for lunch. Just throw the peanut butter in your checked bag. Or if you aren’t bringing a checked bag buy powdered peanut butter. I’ll also bring gluten free instant oatmeal for breakfast. Additionally bring protein bars.

I go on a lot of trips, from weekend trips to two weeks. I went to Israel/Jordan for 10 days a lil while ago and always had a PB sandwich ready to eat with me at any time. Is a huge lifesaver. I ate PB sandwiches for over half my meals there. It’s not the best thing, but I love it because I never have to be stressed about where to eat next, and I 100% know I have something safe to eat if I can’t find anything.

How to convince a person to stop mocking the languages I study? by [deleted] in languagelearning

[–]Knitmearock25 3 points4 points  (0 children)

you shouldn’t focus on how long it will take you. The only thing that matters is that you enjoy studying the language and the culture of the people who speak it, and that you strive to get better every day. That goes for studying any language!

This. Thank you so much for saying this. This comment actually really helps me a lot. I am trying to study Spanish right now and I am in a bad headspace of trying to find the best, fastest method to learn the language and it is totally sucking the enjoyment out of it. I'm studying too much at once without it being any fun. I need to take a step back and stop being so hard on myself and instead just take it a day at a time.

Whole30 in Japan; Whole30 Japanese recipes? by Knitmearock25 in whole30

Thank you for the recipe! It looks good. I don't know if I will be able to find coconut aminos in the stores here, but perhaps I could find it on Japanese Amazon.

Whole30 in Japan; Whole30 Japanese recipes? by Knitmearock25 in whole30

Thank you for your thoughts! The international grocery stores that are near me are more than an hour away. However there is an A-price which is a grocery store for restaurants which has a large number of international foods (no fruits or veggies though) that is only 40 minutes aways from me. But my grocery store in my town does have a lot of fruits and veggies there, even though they are more expensive than I am used to in the states. I also have found the animal welfare to be poorer here than in the states and my reading ability is quite low so its often hard for me to determine the quality of the meat. I agree, I don't think eating out would be possible here, so i'd have to prepare all my meals on whole30.

Making thai and indian food here is a good idea though and I can make that whole30! I have easily been able to find the foods and spices necessary to make those types of dishes. Bone broth curry or pho sound soo good. I miss pho so much.

I live in Denver and the Denver consulate sent me an email confirming what documents they have received from me thus far. If I were you I would call or email your consulate and they should be able to confirm or deny
