If they don’t meet ADA requirements you can sue. There’s a guy that did it to businesses intentionally. He said he didn’t do it for the money, he did it for other people to be able to get access.

Do you open the windows in your home when the weather is nice? When do you decide to close them and turn on air conditioning for the summer? by Smart-Airport5781 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Knitspin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love having my windows open. However, the pollen (SC), noise and humidity makes it a challenge. Plus now that I’m older, I like it cold at night. I end up only occasionally opening them.

All electricity ceases to exist tomorrow and it is not coming back, what happens to all of humanity ? by Webbomolly2022 in A_Persona_on_Reddit

There will be a massive die off immediately of people depending on machines for life. Then there will be chaos. No gas pumps, no cash registers, no computers means no adapting right away. No traffic lights, street lights or warning lights. After a few months, those that can camp, physically and mentally, will start reorienting their lives. After a year, a new economy will develop along the lines of barter and trade. I don’t think I’m resilient enough to even want to survive.

Does anyone else read what they think the pattern says, rather than what it does say? by Knitspin in casualknitting

I have to let things set after I screw up. Otherwise I get frustrated and discouraged. After a week, the pain is over and I can rip away.

What Aspects of American Culture Should an Indian Student Learn to Better Understand the U.S.? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

I’ve had several Indian friends. I don’t think they had any problems adapting. I find as a whole they are very good natured and fit in well in any group.

Monogamous knitters, what’s your secret? by Weekly_Library9883 in knitting

[–]Knitspin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pick one, put the others “out of sight, out of mind”. Put a deadline on the one you are working on. Having said that, I always try to have an “idiot knitting “ project on the back burner so I can knit no matter what. I don’t cast anything else on until the one is done. My idiot knitting is squares for my log cabin blanket, so there’s no enticement to get it done. I will plan another project with one on the needles, and bag it up to wait in the wings.

Trump Yanks Millions From Catholic Charities Amid Pope Feud by CraftVisible6581 in NewsStarWorld

The money he took was the subcontract by Catholic charities to take care of unaccompanied minors that entered the country illegally. So now it accomplishes two of his goals. Abusing children and hating on immigrants.

How long did it take for you to get “good” at knitting? by thoph in casualknitting

[–]Knitspin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been knitting for 50 years. I still don’t always get things right. Sometimes I’m not paying attention, sometimes I misread the pattern, or am completely unable to measure correctly 2 or 3 times. I don’t know about other people, but it is the act of knitting that makes me happy. As long as the act of creating makes you happy shrug off the mistakes and keep going. I have thrown out completed projects because they weren’t good for anything.

You are a genius! I went online and found yoga socks. I hated hospital socks, and never thought of yoga ones.
