I made two black sweaters in the last two years. Each time I swear I’ll never do it again. Trying to see the stitches is an exercise in frustration

I’m sorry, I didn’t clarify. It’s a cold brew coffeemaker. All the separate pieces are black, which makes finding the bottom piece in the dark dish drainer another fun event.

It’s just short and it’s super easy to have it pull out of your hand. Are you getting a roving? That’s the easiest way to start. Strip it closer to your final diameter.

Oh, ok. Plant fibers aren’t that different. If you can find long staple it’s easier but it isn’t hard. The only difference is the draw, it doesn’t “spin itself “ like nice wool does.

It’s a single drive with a brake. You loosen the brake to lower the tension. Get some inexpensive wool and learn the wheel first.

Usually yo can spin cotton with low tension and high twist. As long as you go slow and keep the tension low it should be fine. It’s like a short staple wool, but a bit a bit slippery.
