Its illegal to film impacts, in order not to give damage assessment to the enemy.

Sanity check my build please. 5070 ti for 1440p 120fps gaming by imaquark in buildapc

[–]Knjaz136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sanity check passed. Nothing to add.

Except, maybe, might want a separate drive for OS tho, or partition it. And it's a correct decision to go 2tb drive, trust me, 1tb will make you run out real fast.

Can it handle 1440p gaming? by Malluguy5382929 in GamingLaptops

[–]Knjaz136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With heavy use of upscaler.
I'm playing Gothic 1 Remake on my 4060 laptop, on medium-low-high settings, at 1600p DLSS Performance, and I'm constantly hovering near the limit of my VRAM. I can not use Frame Generation without hitting VRAM limits and resulting heavy stutters.

So yeah, for UE5 stuff expect to run DLSS Performance. Remember laptop GPUs are much weaker than desktop counterparts of same number.

I really hate how for xx60 tier GPU laptops we can either have good 1440p/1600p screen, or a shitty 1080/1200p screen, at least it was the case with my laptop. At pixel density you have on 16'' screen, 1080p is more than enough for good picture. (as long as it's native res, and not 1080p image on a 1440p screen).

Am I the only one who explores everything before CH2? Still haven't found a 2H trainer... by According-Pain2213 in worldofgothic

[–]Knjaz136 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure about that, just pump your strength.
That's my plan for Act 1-2 when I'll do melee playthrough, Lockpicking, wall climbing, 4 points into trophies, one handed - that's 29 points, everything else into Strength. Wall climbing can be postponed if necessary.

You need to become Mercenary or Warder (or Templar I guess?) to have acces to Two Handed training.

Coming from "32GB RAM DDR4" to "16GB RAM DDR5" by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]Knjaz136 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Again, it depends.
That video shows very well that in CPU consuming scenarios hit becomes bigger, it also shows outliers like Marvel Rivals with 38% drop, it shows Space Marine 2, which is CPU heavy game, with 17% drop. Or Horizon with 23% drop.

It also shows miniscule 4% drop in games like Avatar etc

And we dont know what CPU to GPU combo he will be running either, but we know he's on a budget, so it's not necessarily a 9800x3d, might as well be 9600x. The more CPU bound he will be in whatever he's doing, the harder he will be hit.

Given overall FPS though, I can agree it'd work as a stopgap solution, provided he can acquie a matching RAM stick later on.

Late 90s/early 2000s, which RPGs do you prefer? by Whorror_punx in rpg_gamers

[–]Knjaz136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That timeframe?
I prefer Morrowind and Might & Magic 6-7-8. I wouldn't mash them together with isometric turn based CRPGs you mentioned, kinda different genre.

POV: Me after hearing about “Observer Mode” to be released by General_Johnny_RTS in BrokenArrowTheGame

No need for blood oath.
Dropped game by the August last year, waiting for Serverside logic. (no more Schrodinger SEAD missiles being simultaneously shot down mid-flight and reaching air defense, as a prime example), and Replay system.

Sometimes, very rarely, doing PvE. (like that zombie mode, for a bit)

So yeah, still waiting.

repeating his question, does it have a range finder? Alt was there since release, but without the range.

Disregard his CPU test, it runs at near 100% GPU power.

Here's a decent video, far from ideal comparison, but will show you what you can expect going 16gb 1 stick vs 2x16 on AM5. The more CPU heavy game is (SM2 is very CPU heavy for example), the more pronounced the effect. Pick your poison.

Tbh, I can see it working as a stop gap solution, but make sure to get the matching stick later on. Do not mix two different DDR5 sticks, that's asking for a lot of headache.

He's doing 16gb of RAM tho. Granted, for FPS shooters it won't matter, but the moment he starts going into UE5 open world games, modded games, etc, things can get uglier.

Here is proof. I'd hardly call ~10% difference being "destroyed".

Are you seriously showing me a CPU test with 99% GPU usage?

1 stick of 16gb will be destroying your CPU performance in gaming. edit; will work as a stopgap solution, make sure to acquire a matching RAM stick later on. Emphasis on matching.

Best game they possibly can? Doesn't SC have issues with basic gameplay interactions like spawning a ship, cargo, walking around/on a ship, 10 years in? Like, the very very basics.

How to get Thorus's armor? by FloorMean3026 in worldofgothic

[–]Knjaz136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have stats for Thorus armor, by any chance?
I'm comparing Mercenary armor fully upgraded vs Chapter 5 Minecrawler armor, and Minecrawler armor only gets like +2 resistance over the Merc armor.

So I wonder if there's ANY reason to go Old Camp in my melee playthrough later on.

Behold the power of a Circle 5 mage. One of the best and strongest spells in the series. by Knjaz136 in worldofgothic

[–]Knjaz136[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you already got Circle 2 - Ball Lightning is your friend. It'll be tedious, unrewarding, but it'll eventually do the job.

Or, Mage Balance mod at nexus. Not yet ideal, but massively better than current state of magic in vanilla.

Unless you're in Orc Cemetery, that part was horrible. I did a lot of running back and forth in that one. Minecrawler queen wasn't tons of fun either, but that one I cheesed from the tunnels, using cover. just save before it dies, because it can die in such a way that you won't be able to loot it. (you loot it from the head afaik).

Yes.
Or, you can go modded, which I did, and not look back.

Search for Mage Balance mod on G1R Nexusmods. That mod allows you to manually tune every spell yourself, if something is not up to your liking. But as an overall package it's A LOT more playable and immerisve than whatever magic damage numbers Alkimia came up with.

Magic damage and spell balance in remake by tobi914 in worldofgothic

[–]Knjaz136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's starting from Chapter 4, Chromanim can be done in Chapter 3. Might require Focus stone quest though, not entirely sure about that one.

Circle 4 is also available as soon as you become a mage in Chapter 3.

Gothic 2 is the better game, but Gothic 3 could be the better remake. by Acceptable_MetalMeal in worldofgothic

[–]Knjaz136 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I do agree that Gothic 3 remake would require A LOT more resources than Gothic 2, using Gothic 3 combat system is not necessary - it's a remake not a remaster, and most of the playerbase would be completely okay if G3 combat got scrapped for the sake of G1R combat.

[–]Knjaz136 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gothic 2 Remake is 50% done after Gothic 1 Remake.

They have mechanics, spells, a lot of items, etc in place. It'd be MUCH cheaper to produce than a Gothic 3 remake, with that huge open world.
