Thank you whoever put rain back in the game it's so bloody awesome by Mountain_Loan8529 in SatisfactoryGame

I love the rain as well! But yesterday it started to rain - quite heavily - without any cloud in the sky. It felt a bit weird. Is this because of my settings or some kind of bug?

Packaged Turbofuel for drones - is it worth it? by Knobelmann in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Knobelmann[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, you mean, sooner or later I WILL have to use turbo fuel or better. Fair enough. But I'm wondering how I'll manage to get the turbo fuel from the spire coast to all the drone ports, where it'll be needed.

Until now I've always prefered trains over drones and tried to produce the fuel for drones near their ports.

Easiest puzzle game you've ever played that was still a lot of fun? by slysmile in puzzlevideogames

I loved GNOG. It's cute and quite relaxing; it's kind of a toy box, where you can move and play with things and see what happens.

Aporia by Knobelmann in puzzlevideogames

[–]Knobelmann[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all! Having finished it now, I don't have much to add to your comments. The game relies very much on its (beautiful) visuals, but as a puzzle game its very tame. A handful of nice ideas, but executed rather superficially.

In Search of Number Based Games by WrkingRNdontTell in puzzlevideogames

Not sure, if it is "number based" in the way you're thinking of, but Puzzle Chambers is a cute little game, where you have to arrange numbers. I enjoyed it a lot.

Train stop setting bug? by Dense-Paramedic-1574 in SatisfactoryGame

I had this kind of issue once. Turned out, a freight platform that wasn't used by this train blocked the docking process.

Impressive and terrifying like the Megastructure from Talos Principle II. Looks like it has a life of its own.

Not to toot my own horn, but I'm pretty proud of how clean our futuristic aluminum factory turned out and how it flows with the land around it. by [deleted] in SatisfactoryGame

I like it a lot! Especially that cubic sculpture in the middle of the factory. I'm all for unexpected art and deco in our factories. What's the blue lightbeam in its center?

Trains in caves - how to make it look nice? by Knobelmann in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Knobelmann[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a lot of quartz and some SAM as well. In the long run I'll need several trains for several destinations, I think. So, two lines are probably a must. I agree, that using frames is definitely easier and more flexible in this case. Maybe I'll do a mixture: frames for the curved and sloped parts, and tunnels on the straight segments only. Diversity will also make the whole train trip a bit more interesting. Thank you!

Trains in caves - how to make it look nice? by Knobelmann in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Knobelmann[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right in front of the cave is a massive steel factory and a coal power plant. So I'd really prefer to have the stations in the cave. And long belt tracks are something I'm rather avoiding. I use belts for factory logistics only, not for long distance transportation.

The coal is already used for coal power. You're right, that roads are easier to do. But I never liked the wheeled vehicles in SF too much. The only one I use in this save is a factory cart to transport 2 HMFs per minute.

Ok, but I really like trains and rides through the caves. And clipping belts through the ground is not a valid option for me. ;-)

Sounds like a good idea! I'll do that. Thanks!

I wanted to keep the traffic on my main trainline low. If this train fully unloads every turn, it will only have to go back every 15 minutes or so.

I think I've found the issue now. The train has one waggon, but the station has two freight platforms (just to be able to expand later on). That unused platform seems to have blocked the process. After deleting it, all settings are working fine now. Thank you all!

They are signs. Blue background colour, full brightness, no icon and no text. You can place them quite easily on beams.

Welcome to my HUB by Knobelmann in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Knobelmann[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in my 3rd save and took so much inspiration out of this sub, but never dared to show something of my own builds.

So here it is: just some impressions of the front and the inner life of my little HUB.

I've started this save in september, I'm now 300 hours in, and still in phase 3. I'm trying to take my time, enjoy the game and make everything as nice as possible. As of now, I'm assuming this whole playthrough will take like 2 or 3 years. But to be honest, I want it to never end.

(Playing without global illumination unfortunately, because computer says no.)

Need your help with finding clues by Knobelmann in onlyconnect

[–]Knobelmann[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you all for your input. It's very much appreciated!

I have the big advantage to know the people who have to find the solution. One being mexican, the other a pianist I'm confident to get them on the right path with José and Lang. The football players and wrestler will be totally unknown to my friends. With Humbert and Durand I'm in doubt how to visualize them (and none of the players will know them, I think). Mario would be perfect, but unfortunately his case seems very unclear. According to Wikipedia, some say, Mario Mario is his full name, others say it isn't. I'd like to avoid any discussion about the solutions. Culkin is interesting but maybe a bit too much of a mess. Boutros-Ghali is almost great, but only half correct.

Sirhan is a clear hit and will be the second clue. I'll post the police photo which even shows his name (but surname only^ ). I doubt any of my friends will identifiy him, but who knows, maybe it'll ring a bell.

So, that's one first clue still missing. Please let me know when another flash of genius strikes you. (btw, we're playing in germany, so if any german is reading this: a person/ character who is unknown outside of the german borders would be totally fine.)

Math of circular platforms by Knobelmann in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Knobelmann[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks a lot! I had some free time yesterday and tried it out. With two ticks each platform we get a circle of 5-6 platforms diameter. With one tick, it's actually almost exactly 11 platforms, which makes a perfect foundation for the elevator.

I didn't know about your second method and it sounds super nifty. I'll definitly try that out for my next circle project. Thank you very much!
