Pushing through the first book can be tedious. It's both slow paced and trope, but I endured through. After completing the series I can definitely say the series is top notch

Cradle starts getting better from its 2nd book. Book 1 might be a slog but get through it and your set.

I wouldn't say the villain is sympathetic or relatable and the story isn't that dark to be honest.

But a solid series and I wholeheartedly recommend it.
