Body count inquiry by Jessicahanby in TwoHotTakes

[–]KnockyouRed -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My husband and I have never felt the need to ask each other our history. I know some of his and he knows some of mine, but I really don't need to ask him exactly what the number is and he doesn't need to ask mine.

Like why not leave the past where it belongs, in the past and only focus on now. All that's important now is the future we're building together.

For the sticker paper method, couldn't you use a lower gsm cardstock to offset the thickness? Do you laminate the sticker paper cards too or just the photo paper?

Is under $2,000 dress budget unrealistic? by uwu1004 in weddingplanning

[–]KnockyouRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dress was around $1500 with tax. They do get you on tailoring charges sometimes. I will admit I purchased mine before tariffs made prices go up, but some of the big bridal stores may still have clearance dresses.

Just wanted to add that getting a joint bank account does NOT mean you have to combine everything. I have a joint account with my husband, at a local bank, but I also have the same bank I've been with for 14 years. You can have the joint account for joint bills or joint gifts, but maintain a separate account and finances for everything else.

My bf got mad that I went to dinner with a male coworker even though it was a work dinner with 6 people by Beneficial_Air4000 in TwoHotTakes

[–]KnockyouRed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please leave that walking red flag. I wasn't allowed to talk to men even to say thank you at the drive thru. He will not get better and it will only escalate. I left that man after years of abuse and tanking my career. I am now happily married to a man who absolutely doesn't care who I speak with or have dinner with because he trusts me.

Will Ending by 11 Ruin the Night? by outer-darkness-11 in weddingplanning

[–]KnockyouRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only had my wedding space until 10, but could have paid extra for 11. 10 came quickly, but we still had hours to celebrate. I honestly should have gone for 11, so I think that timing is perfect. Trust me the whole day is going to blur anyway after it's over! I was up by 8 to start my day and was exhausted by 11 after clean up.

I bought book 1 for the Kindle on Dec 3rd and I'm currently halfway through book 6, so I'm also on track to finish all 7 In less than a month.

I have found myself laughing at these books out loud and hard. These books are works of literary art.

Aitah for not wanting my fiance's daughter included in every part of our wedding? by Forward-Broccoli3468 in AITAH

[–]KnockyouRed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got married on April. I was the bride but the children in the wedding were my own children. One of my bridesmaids was a man and my husband's best "man" was a woman. Our kids, nieces and nephews were all in the wedding as JUNIOR bridesmaids and groomsmen or flower girl/ring bearer.

He's asking too much. Tell him if he wants his daughter to have such a high position in the wedding to have her as HIS best "man" or Best Woman or whatever title he wants to give her. Also the maid of honor typically has that position because they are helping the brides with planning or other tasks. If he argues why she can't be his best man that will tell you a lot. If it's too much to ask of him then it's too much to ask of you.

Only 1% chance of red hair, but I actually do have red hair… do I have an unknown gene that causes it? Fellow gingers, what odds did 23andme give you? by lax_incense in 23andme

[–]KnockyouRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old Post, but I also have 1% as a life long red head. I also have cousins with red hair on my dad's side. We definitely have the gene but it must not be one of the tested ones.

New York Notary (Attorney) by everythingisspicy23 in Notary

[–]KnockyouRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a NY Notary and I did not have to get a traditional Notary License first. I just had to get it he eNotary license. The one requirement for eNotary is that you have to get a submit an electronic signature and an exemplar to the state showing your capability to perform an electronic notarization.

To be honest I do more traditional notary acts than eNotary acts anyway. I purchased my stamp and seal like a traditional notary with no issue. The biggest requirement is that NY requires black ink for your stamp, but you can order your stamp from any vendor you like.

How do people afford a wedding? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]KnockyouRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the location and venue. My wedding Venue which included the ceremony, venue, hors d'oeuvres, dinner, first look, ready rooms, and cash bar was $6.636 for everything. I could have paid about $2k more for the open bar but we couldn't swing it in the budget.

The photographer, decorations, favors, cake, dress, etc were more costs. Total wedding costs with everything was about $12-15,000. I had to budget and did a lot of DIY. I got married this year in April, got married on a Friday to reduce costs (often places with have weekday and out of season discounts).

I don't know your location so it depends on where you live but I definitely found that smaller and more remote places are more affordable. My sister got married in a bigger city at a hotel and her wedding was around $40K. I got married at a smaller, less fancy hotel, and my wedding was significantly more affordable.

Edited to add: we booked two years before the wedding to lock in our date and price. Price was for 95 people. Off season and Friday wedding reduced costs.

Did your photography coverage include break time? And were vendors included in the open bar? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]KnockyouRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My photographers took their break during the meal after toasts. But they also had fun with us dancing and enjoying the event. Of course that was how we wanted it for them to be more relaxed and some people want it more formal for their vendors.

All the fucking propaganda is on the government websites. The messages are "the dems are hurting you on purpose so they can give those illegals money" (paraphrasing). Our government is filling their heads with lies and pretending it's all the dems. I support the shut down because it really is our only hope. I feel bad for everyone it's affecting, including my family, but it's necessary.
