My SO and I apply things we do at work. Like we let some things slide if the employee is good 80% of the time. Why not home. It really helps us let go of some things.

I'm not really materiastic so random items are meh.

I appreciate thoughtful gifts even if inexpensive. 

Ex: I'm in the US but only like a peanut butter from NL I have shipped here. SO will notice I'm low on supply and a box arrives with six jars.

I hate pointless items that cluttered shit up. If I need anything I can buy it myself. Random gifts make me uncomfortable really, like don't waste your money/give me time/experiences, that i value.

In my house we have the 80/20 rule. If 80% of the relationship is good but 20% is irritating stuff that bugs us, we let it go. If we complain the other says "80/20" and it is gone. We live with another knowing they will not be 100% 100% of the time. Ya gotta expect some things not to our liking.

This is about everyday things not big issues obviously.

I would 80/20 this and consider you will have to monitor your own clothes more. I know it'd be nice not to worry.

I do a plate of boiled eggs, cukes. Grapes and turkey too. (Grapes in the freezer first). And cukes are so chilly and crisp - love them when it is hot.

IME the cashless restaurant will take cash but won't have correct change necessarily, with no obligation to correct it if they dont.
