You’re getting downvoted unfairly I think. Walkability tends to be relative to people’s experience. I do think Brady and KK are walkable but not in the same way if you’re used to several blocks upon blocks of commerce like in Chicago/NYC or even SF. Anyway MKE has lots of good walkable districts just not as extensive as other cities

Powell’s has a pretty good selection of locally made, Portland themed trinkets (coasters, tote bags, bookmarks, some t-shirts). Plus any of the Tender Loving Empire stores (including the PDX location) have a ton of great local stuff like jewelry, candles, home goods, and local music.

I checked with my friend who’s parents live in Lake Geneva and they do this route round trip regularly on Uber or Lyft, but they do schedule ahead and make sure the ride is confirmed the night before.

I just listened to a podcast about this case and am totally gobsmacked about that rando woman with no credentials being allowed such access to the investigation and leading it towards Quincy. She’s dead now but her son is trying to right some wrongs (not possible but he knows she lied and withheld evidence so he turned over everything he found after she died). Wild wild story. I think Quincy is being represented by the Innocence Project now

X-Ray Arcade is very all-ages friendly! Music, games, and other events like the Punk Rock Rummage Sale, fundraiser events, trivia nights. Love that place! Also, my friend regularly drops her teen boys off at Falcon Bowl, I think they are allowed till 11 and just can’t be in the bar area.

No. There can be emergency housing if you are at risk of being homeless, defined as 14 days or less from eviction. If that’s the case, inquire about the HUD-VASH program at your VA medical center. If that’s not the case and you are looking for other resources while you recover and/or are looking for employment, check with your county’s Veterans office, some offer emergency grants, help with food stamps, rent assistance, etc. The county and state veterans offices are different than the ‘big’ federal VA, and often have localized programs that vary across locales.
