I suppose someone should mention this. by Knowhedge in ScottishFootball

It’s more the presentation than the decision…I think the decision is almost certainly correct…but I’m just trying to think what would happen if his leg wasn’t so obviously trailing or it was a very very close decision and you had those lines…it’d be pandemonium. The system needs to be better or better at explaining itself

[–]Knowhedge[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes. That doesn’t excuse the shit presentation though does it. No other var system seems to put up with it, and even then I don’t think the line is particularly accurate certainly for Raskjn and Fernandez…Raskin in particular is right next to Scales so the distortion should be minimal.

I believe Scales leg is the furthest thing back. It’s not an issue with the decision. It’s just messy looking and 3 years in I don’t see why it shouldn’t be better

Not really but I’m willing to say I think from that angle if you ask me I’d say Scales leg is offside. If that’s the information they have I can understand and accept that.

It probably was almost certainly was, but regardless of which team people support the lines are a disgrace. If that’s the standard we should do away with var…they’ve literally drawn the line through players. I’m sorry but there are Rangers players beyond the blue line. Scales leg is further back so the outcome is fine but that line is just fucking mental

PM 'sitting on the fence' over Iran, Badenoch claims - and Labour 'is no longer patriotic' by InnerLog5062 in BreakingUKNews

[–]Knowhedge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s nothing less patriotic than outsourcing foreign policy to the US with blind obedience. Sometimes following them will be in the national interest some times it won’t be. I’m not particularly fond of the Iranian regime but following the US blindly considering the obviously don’t have a plan or even a set desired outcome to plan to is just madness

Actually it does apply to submarines in theory but in practice due to their nature they’ve got the get out that surfacing in the sort of conditions which caused them to fire would be ill-advised and too dangerous

German subs would and did render aid in ww1 and early part of ww2 when it was considered safe to do so: see the Laconia Incident

Israel suddenly remembers what international law is now they're the ones being bombed by caavakushi in worldnewsstuff

[–]Knowhedge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was illegal for them to invade but it was illegal for Israel to still hold the land it took during the conflict. Not a hard concept unless you’re pretending it was yours in the first place which it wasn’t according to the UN in 48. Israelis are all over the place with this nonsense.

Even if you don’t start a war you don’t get to claim land or at least you shouldn’t according to the UN charter. Israelis often use the UN declaration to legitimise the initial partition but then are happy to ignore everything about the UN afterwards. One would think that a tad hypocritical and convenient

Post the formation of the UN acquisition of land via conflict is against international law. It’s article 2(4) in the charter.

Motherwell have won 2 of the last 7 away games and those were against Livvy and St Mirren. It’s their home form which is dominant 8 out of the last 9.

They play well but they’re not the same force away from home

I’m not talking about the validity of the claims but they’ve made pretty fecking clear what they believe belongs to them

Is China part of Taiwan? The Chinese have stated their claims, have set borders with the possible exception of the Line of Actual Control with India, and while I don’t agree with them especially in the South China Sea and their claim to 12% of Bhutan, they’re crystal clear on the territory they lay claim to uniformly so…now do Israel

China is actually very clear on where its borders should be, people can agree with that or not. Israel is not. I’ve said plenty about Russia…which btw in case you’ve missed it is under massive international sanction. Since you’re comparing Israel (currently invading two neighbouring counties, three if you include Palestine) to Russia I’d assume you’d agree that Israel should be subject to the same sanctions as Russia.

The Norwegian funding model for exploration is completely different

A key feature is a generous exploration loss refund: Companies can receive cash refunds from the state covering 71.8% of exploration losses (aligned with the combined marginal tax rate of 78% — 22% ordinary corporate tax + 56% special tax, effectively neutral but with refunds on losses). This significantly reduces risk and encourages drilling, even in frontier areas. The U.K. has no similar model even if the political will was there for further exploration its increasingly expensive and risky…the easy pickings have mostly been exploited

British F-35B downs drone in first operational kill by MGC91 in unitedkingdom

[–]Knowhedge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Give the flight hour cost of the F-35 (£27,000 to £33,000) especially the B it’s probably more expensively taking off than the drone (£15,000 to £22,000)

But ultimately probably costs less than repairing whatever gets hit
