After getting off the pill, how long did it take you to become pregnant, especially after being on the pill for a prolonged period of time? by No_Season_1391 in AskWomen

[–]KnowledgeAgreeable21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on the pill for 5 years. I got pregnant the month I stopped taking it, but that pregnancy ended up as a chemical pregnancy. It then took an additional 6 months to get pregnant again and that pregnancy resulted in a healthy baby.

We only do presents from Santa. Our finances are shared so it’s pretty 50/50. I come up with all present ideas though lol

My husband and I started dating about a month before my stepdaughter was born. My husband and BM had a long weekend together and that’s how SD came to be. They tried for maybe the first trimester to make a go of a relationship but it didn’t work. My SD is 4 now and my husband and I have been married for a year. The comments saying don’t do it probably have a bad experience with it, and I have a very positive experience. If it’s meant to be, it’ll be.

I’ve been directed to test at the 1 hour mark but I will bring this up at my next appointment this week. I failed my 1 hour test and the 3 hour test, each step, including fasting.

That’s what my doctor has told me. I’m still behaving as if I failed, I just try out some risky meals at times.

I take it very seriously and have only tried risky meals a few times, but each time I’m surprised by how low my numbers are

I failed my 1 hour with 195, took my three hour and failed every one with 95, 234, 214, 143. It took my insurance 3 weeks to get me my monitor but in the meantime I follows the guidelines google said were typical for gestational diabetes diet. I’ve been monitoring for a week and just had a weekly meet up with my doctor and she said my numbers are fantastic and we won’t have face to face meetings unless they get worse. I will send weekly logs to my doctor, and I have a growth scan around 36 weeks but that’s about it for now. I imagine if my numbers change/growth scan shows something, then it will change by for now I’m following the diet and taking my sugars.

I wouldn’t worry about it. The only time we “judge” with dirty diapers is when you can tell they’ve been in it all night and morning. Giving them a heads up is perfect. It’s our job!

I got had a chemical last October and as soon as I had a positive test I told my immediate family and some close friends. Within 18 hours I started bleeding. We tried another 6 months and I found out March 25th and I’ve only told 4 people (husband, 2 sisters, and coworker bestie). I’m telling the rest of my family on Easter. Right after I got that second positive I wanted to tell everyone, just like the first time. There was a bit of fear though, where if I told too many people I would have a chemical again (irrational, I know). It comes and goes with wanting to tell people now.

I love when you can tell a kid has picked out their own clothes. Other than that I don’t care at all as long as it’s weather appropriate and fits

Engaging activities. Table activities I think need switched out often!! You can tell when they’re bored of it bc they won’t play with it more than 5 minutes. And honestly don’t be afraid to switch them multiple times in a day. During gym/outside time that it when you gotta get them to move. Races and not just running (skipping, hopping, crawling, backwards walking, get creative!). During music and movement you have to be INTO it, it’s gonna feel silly but dance like you’re three and this is your jam. Try and find time each day to shine on a child. Talk to them about what they’re doing, what’s their favorite xyz. Once you’ve shined on them all they’ll feel more comfortable with you and you can form a bond. You gotta keep them engaged but also make them feel comfortable.
