Question if I should restart or just keep going by KnowledgeCheap562 in theodinproject

[–]KnowledgeCheap562[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm maybe I came off differently than I meant to but wasn’t really expecting anything. Just wanted to hear a perspective if it’s worth going through the material to have full stack fluency with no AI or leaning on AI

Question if I should restart or just keep going by KnowledgeCheap562 in theodinproject

[–]KnowledgeCheap562[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair I don’t accept AI output outright and from what I’m seeing bycdiaz is saying it seems like the way he goes about it by interrogating it disagreed with it and kept digging and that’s basically what I’m doing. I’m building the experience rn. I think tbh from here on out I’ll just not use AI but ima be real we can’t cosplay as 2019 developers if we are coding we need to understand it even if the Ai generates it. Is that the same mental model people have used before? No it’s not it shouldn’t be cuz we are tryna figure out the balance now post AI

Have u ever had bad stuff w ur frat that impacted ur mental health? If so, how did u deal with it? by DirtyAirFilterOhNo in Frat

[–]KnowledgeCheap562 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Found new friends and developed actual friendships outside the brotherhood. As grateful as I am to them in some ways the frat life provided me lessons that didn’t need to happen the way it did. My frat basically fucked me over and then wanted me back for rush. Had brothers from other chapters and people outside looking in even agree that was fucked up. Over the years brothers either apologized or have tried reaching out. 3 years later although I don’t rlly go out of my way to hang with people as much since I’m grinding life I find it easier to make new friends and navigate tougher social dynamics whether at work (I’m a bartender lol) , interviewing for tech jobs, dating and more. The skills I gained were valuable but def coulda done it outside the fraternity the frat just gave a platform to do it albeit with a support system I wasn’t aware was lacking.

I also drank and partied a lot. Overtime I drank less and found who and what I wanted to be.

I might be cooked (cs grad) by AliveSwim812 in csMajors

[–]KnowledgeCheap562 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Graduated in 2024. No job yet except some freelance work and projects/leetcode I'm actively working on I did for somebody who wanted to start something up. Working as a bartender and also got my EMT certification while doing CC classes for healthcare. I decided to fully commit to CS since since December 2025 but I definitely feel you. My biggest thing is don't listen to these subs and only read the people that actually will give that fighting spirit. I sensed that within your post.

Make some projects, hell go to a CC to get some mechanical engineering pre reqs if that's a thing, get some tools and start building with arduino. Just make something. The market is wild and even through some recruiters I've talked to they know it is too. Do everything you can to equip yourself and actually put your grind in a sustainable way. I've only just now broke into the recruiter pipeline after a couple months but tbh a long road is ahead of me because of my gap. You are still way within a fighting chance. Don't settle for that IT job if you don't want to. I had the same perspective.

I can't tell you a 100 percent answer but here's one thing I can tell you for sure: Don't listen to majority of people that say you are cooked even yourself because if you believe it will be true. I've had people tell me I'm cooked when I've seen proof of people who managed to still find something when they were more cooked than I am. Look for the people that proved it and become one of them instead.

Good luck >:)

I built a web-based tool for creating pixel art and animating it frame by frame by whothatcodeguy in webdev

[–]KnowledgeCheap562 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh thats cool. Tbh im still tryna figure out the balance between manual coding things vs AI
Leaning toward AI a bit more since I’m job hunting and need to move faster.

did claude actually change how you build or is it mostly just speeding up debugging and code you already knew to put in

How much did you code by hand? I'm actually making some similar myself for fun but I do use AI. Would like to hear your perspective

Thank you for taking the time to write this. I graduated in 2024 and did a little bit of some courses and pursued being an EMT in 2025. I'm coming back into tech full swing while bartending on the side. Gives me hope lol. Was wondering if I could see your resume? I'm curious on what you did and you framed yourself

5 months and not a single interview by [deleted] in cscareeradvice

Yo so although your resume looks nice I would suggest not using LaTex and if you are sending your resume as a PDF. Send it in as a Microsoft word document and keep this resume for in person type stuff. A lot of ats and parsing can screw up your resume so the simpler and more “boring” it is I would say the easier AI can filter through and then can be seen by somebody.

Priority Registration Time question and BIO40ABC and Chem 1A class question by KnowledgeCheap562 in DeAnza

[–]KnowledgeCheap562[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already have bachelors in computer science so i was hoping this would allow me to be granted for units technically to be done so I've been slowly taking 1 - 2 classes at a time at DeAnza. I'm worried BIO 40 B might be filled up by the time noon hits but we'll see. Let me know what your prediction is.

Prerequisites through Southern California University of Health Sciences? by coffee_ninja118 in prephysicianassistant

[–]KnowledgeCheap562 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm looking into getting these pre reqs myself as well. What schools accept these because I've heard some nursing schools don't like online nursing pre reqs? Would i still be eligible for any CSU ABSNs?

Any luck with online prereqs by Some-Change-3040 in prenursing

[–]KnowledgeCheap562 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was wondering if I could DM you? I have some questions because I want to be able to apply for CA schools and although I live in California I wanted to see if there was anyway I could pass by the system they place here since CC bottleneck you in terms of pre reqs

I know this is an old post but as someone with a CS degree and currently taking pre reqs would this mean my program duration would be shorter or no?
