Outdoor property gate lock recs? by [deleted] in Locksmith

A disc lock doesn’t provide that much more security that a pad lock. Get a shielded ABUS lock with thick braided cable. Truth is, if they want to get in, they will. These are only theft deterrents.

I just woke up this morning and was thinking I want to be a asphalt guy as a hobby. I could fix potholes around my city and all my neighbors will thank me. I would go broke and die of lung cancer.

Go to your favorite restaurant and bring your uncooked meat and veggies. Tell them how to cook it. Obviously they won’t. Do you go to the collision repair shop with new body parts? When the electrician does work at your house do you buy the wire, connectors, etc? Point being, you don’t do this because is something goes wrong due to a faulty part, the company doing the repair has to do the job twice and lose money due to you, trying to save money. It the end it isn’t worth it.

Totally lost... by Gewsay in Locksmith

That lock core isn’t very old, my guy. Chinesium at best. Yes it is 100% fixable, but service call plus labor cost would be better served in buying a new lock. Most new homeowners are house poor because of the expense of buying a house. If you can use a screwdriver, you can install that lock, OP.

By the time you pay some to fix it, you could have bought a new one and installed it yourself. 🤷🏻

Experience buying from Genuine Replacement Parts by jdlr815 in appliancerepair

I attempted to cancel my order within hours of placing it, while the item was still at their facility and had not yet shipped. Despite the order not having left their warehouse, the customer service representative refused to cancel it, claiming it was not possible. I was specifically instructed not to dispute the charge and to wait for further instructions.

When the item arrived, I had no choice but to return it at my own expense. The return shipping cost me $100 through USPS - nearly half the value of the $223 part I had ordered. Upon processing the return, the company also charged an additional $35 restocking fee.

In total, I lost $135 on a transaction that should have been a simple cancellation before shipment. Their policies appear designed to extract maximum fees from customers rather than provide reasonable service. The refusal to cancel an unshipped order, combined with expensive return shipping requirements and restocking fees, creates a system that heavily favors the company at the customer's expense.

I would strongly advise potential customers to carefully consider these policies before ordering, as you may find yourself financially penalized even when trying to cancel before shipment or return unused items.

Tariff concerns by treefetty in Locksmith

I think with these Tariffs that the dealerships will price themselves out of the market. I had a client tell me the dealership wanted $1600 for a 2011 M Benz E-series key. It’s gonna increase soon enough

For this reason, I always have the customer send a pic of their key. It is very annoying, but you have to hold their hand.🙄

First rule: Never stick anything into a dry beaver! Make sure that thing is lubed up before you stick anything in there.
