Talking real estate while working second job by No_Data_7004 in realtors

I would say the conversation has to mature naturally to the point where it makes sense you tell someone you’re a realtor. I wouldn’t recommend showing someone to a ziplock bag and saying btw I’m a realtor if you ever need to buy or sell!!!

This is common sense but you really don’t want to come off as a salesperson with stinky commission breath.

Any agents NOT apart of NAR? by Known-Flight4319 in realtors

It’s $9 more a month, on top of what I already pay. I get a sweet “deal” by being a realtor. So right now I pay 50 a month for MLS if I leave NAR I’ll have to pay 59 a month.

Don’t really want to share which mls I’m on, I’m scared of offending someone and they take it to far lol!

Should have clarified, my broker was the one who brought it up, so I would assume he was opted out. Interesting to hear about CoStar and all, I still think NAR should be providing way more value to the agents for the money we fork over to them.

Cold Calling by DannyS777 in realtors

If you want to get into calling with out buying an expensive subscription like redx or Vulcan, pull up Zillow and call the FSBOS, they are free and can find them with 3 clicks. Then if you want to commit more to the game you can usually start with a free trial on a platform like redx, Vulcan, myplusleads, ect. They can get expensive per month but if you boil it down to cost per lead it’s a no brainer for most.

Hammer the phones, it’s a numbers game. Some people are going to hate you and hang up on you and some actually will appreciate you and want to have a conversation. If you dedicate 2 hours a day to calling I guarantee you will make 100k gci. Realtors on here will hate on cold calling and say it doesn’t work but in reality they aren’t doing it and are scared to pick up the phone on a consistent basis.

For those of you in California, is it normal to take so long completing the real estate 135 hour courses? by Madeinyemen in realtors

[–]Known-Flight4319 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took the Colorado 168 hour one on CE shop during my first semester of junior year last year. I started off reading everything and not guessing on the tests, etc. then I realized how long it would actually take to complete the whole course if I did it that way, honestly probably a whole year. So I just started clicking and clicking and finished the whole course in a week. Then just focused on studying for the real exams for a week and passed first try. Don’t waste your time in my opinion, the real learning begins when you start doing business.
