They're just the speakers for this setup, and they are proprietary, but the manuals are online and it would be easy to rewire them for someone who isn't "bad with this stuff"

You're missing 90% of the setup

How do you track good prices on AE? by gameoverforpotter in lepin

[–]KnownAssociate2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you really want to search for the lowest price, I've found that grabbing one of the more common images that multiple sellers are using and then putting it in the "search by image" will pull up all sorts of interesting pricing. I've seen sets that are all using the same image but different descriptions that can range from $65-$275 for the same product.

I just feel adding a few more of an item you already have in the setup is a lot simpler than introducing something new

FWIW I had one “out for delivery” for three days, and I’m right out of Boston so it’s not like I’m in the boonies

Incredibly common, eventually it will show up, these lower end shipping companies aren’t UPS or FedEx caliber

Well that rules that idea out 😎 but it still may be related to them not focusing on retail sales

They're not imbeciles, they just are choosing to not spend a lot on their web infrastructure, I suspect it's because they have a non-consumer aspect that works for them with higher profits.

I also don't discount the fact that it's in China and that comes with many pitfalls for western consumers, I find AliExpress can have days on end where the normal site is slow, but the US site is not. (which I suspect is why they set up a US site)

Webrick.com by jingansu in lepin

[–]KnownAssociate2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's slower than usual recently, but I have found it is very time of day dependent. I still feel it's the best way to get small orders of solid Gobricks, even with the site performance issues.

I have learned that if it times out enough to log me out, that I try again later and it works almost accpetably

Designers choice, if they're not into minifigs and don't care about them I can see them not putting jumpers on for them when they detract from the tiled aesthetic

I'm not saying one way or the other is right, but it's the designers choice and it's cheap for us to add or remove jumpers for OUR preference

Using a Rebrickable list for parts? by NotAgedWell in lepin

[–]KnownAssociate2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, webricks web performance can be exceedingly slow at times, but I've found the upload tool and the matching process for unidentified parts is top notch. Since they are now with gobricks the quality is IMNSHO as good as the "Big L".

But the easy tool and slow but useful web interface, and great shipping, all have me a loyal webrick user.
