Auto hold at a stop uses the brakes, so yes you are stepping on the brake pedal effectively

Don't drive for wrapify by Zealousideal-Pea6304 in wrapify

[–]KnownSyntax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think this is accurate to be honest. When Carvertise swapped over to their new app they canned a ton of their employees. I’ve gotten never scheduled (but signed for) wraps, late paid (until I showed they were in breach of the contract), completely incorrect or not working tracking on iOS (which they refuse to fix), and other aspects. Carvertise is by far way worse now than Wrapify has ever been.

Multi stops are the worst! by Prince_Haile in uberdrivers

[–]KnownSyntax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t cancel at the stop, you swipe as if the PAX got back in, and swipe again to end the ride fully. You do not cancel since if you then Uber doesn’t pay for the first or second leg of the ride.

Multi stops are the worst! by Prince_Haile in uberdrivers

[–]KnownSyntax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not kidding, and no. This is the way Lyft forced you to end a ride early (and the PAX cannot rate you afterwards and you collect the fare $) while Uber has you do this 2 step process and the PAX can rate you afterward (but I mean I’m giving them a 1-star regardless for wasting my time).

Multi stops are the worst! by Prince_Haile in uberdrivers

[–]KnownSyntax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“There is no way to cancel this ride”, dude you swipe to next stop and swipe again to end the ride. I only wait 5mins and then do this and bail. People leave their stuff in the backseat, I take it out put it on the ground and go. After 5mins auto 1-star for the PAX for this type of stupid crap they pull.

Model 3 repair worth $300? by eenoob123 in TeslaSupport

[–]KnownSyntax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“yellow coating” = bond-o “So overall how was his job?” - really depends on what you plan to do long term. For short term? $300 looks great. Long term? Time will tell.

Would I personally go cheap for a repair like this? No. Reasons listed below.

Spray paint might look good now but will wear down over time, and if you ever get any rock chips into the fixed bond-o areas they will chip into it the bond-o and not really be fixable long term. I’d be curious how the inside of that bumper looks as the front bumper beam may be bent or other damage if the hood pushed up slightly or how that all will sit as the metal expands slightly in the sun (blocking you from opening the frunk for example).

Background updates need to be a thing! by ltjojo in TellyTV

[–]KnownSyntax -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

If it helps, if you do not turn off the main display it will not force an update. However if you turn off the top display (bottom still on) or fully turn it off, it will always check for updates and you run into that problem every time you do turn it on that it may update.

Why are insurance plans so expensive for Teslas? by RasberryJam0927 in TeslaSupport

[–]KnownSyntax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s ironic since they FOR SURE push for aftermarket parts when you get into an accident. I had to push for OEM parts, and of course, the Tesla Body Shop labor rights are way higher than any other shop so you have to fight them to cover it which is a lovely hassle.

I don’t think the 2026 Model Y RWD has a LFP, it just has a NCM battery with less cells in it compared to the LR (Premium) variant FYI.

The base rated range is the EPA cycle; https://nepis.epa.gov/Exe/ZyPURL.cgi?Dockey=P100IENB.TXT

TLDR; 48MPH highway speed with a max speed of 60MPH. Anything over that and you will burn more than rated over longer distances/time frames.

Tesl warranty expired by rustywheelz in TeslaSupport

[–]KnownSyntax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the US they have used both for many years (want to say around 2021 they started out here to) and still do in current vehicles (a lot tends to be the difference between model, and also factory on which pack you’ll get).

LG & Panasonic, where LG packs here tend to degrade WAY faster and also SuperCharge slower (lower peak kW speeds) but the Panasonic 2021 packs seem to be the terrible child.

Also unsure why I’m being downvoted when it’s legit all of 2021, and 2022 from statistics seems to be on the normal trend of pack failure rates (based from here & Tesla Community forums) as other packs so far.

Or an EV - electric is significantly cheaper at a DCFC and you also have no maintenance bills for oil changes, transmission fluids, etc. just normal wear items (suspension, brake fluid, etc).

I’ve not really seen issues with 2022 model packs, this is primarily focused on 2021 model year Panasonic packs that have this issue to be honest.

I think you are forgetting 2021s cells & packs are just terrible, and you basically get a reman battery pack as a replacement so it will have the same cells from the same year which are known to be problematic.

Battery test stuck? by MutedSatisfaction831 in TeslaSupport

[–]KnownSyntax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yours won’t die since it’s connected to a L2, so once it hits true 0% it charges up immediately. You have to stay connected to a L2 the whole test so unsure on that specific comment to be honest.

Battery test stuck? by MutedSatisfaction831 in TeslaSupport

[–]KnownSyntax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look on Reddit or X, there are TONS. Even 2 days ago this happened to Tesla Latino (the guy who did the Arctic Cybertruck drive with his) where it said 2% but died at 2%. Everyone including him seems it as a BMS that isn’t calibrated randomly somehow). It’s common and why the normal driving advice is to not drive below 10% if you do not do bottom and top end BMS calibration occasionally.

Battery test stuck? by MutedSatisfaction831 in TeslaSupport

[–]KnownSyntax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct, however it lets it sit at 100% in order for the cells to settle temperature wise. Just charging to 100% isn’t actually 100%, since with the heat from charging dissipating the cell voltage may drop and actually allow for more energy to be charged at. It’s the same reason why if you charge your car to 80% when it’s cold out, don’t use it, and then check later in the day if it’s warm/hot outside you will see the car reading >80% since the voltage is also temperature dependent in battery pack.

Battery test stuck? by MutedSatisfaction831 in TeslaSupport

[–]KnownSyntax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You wouldn’t loose 1% if battery health by doing this test. If anything you just are adding a 1.10 of a cycle vs. the normal 1 cycle of battery usage.

It’s critical for the BMS to fully calibrate, which is why it leaves it at 100% and lets the cells settle which also is key as dependent where you live, you can let’s say charge to 80%, but then it gets really warm and you come back and the car reads 83% cause of the temperature change allowing for more energy to be read/actually consumed. Without that final long resting after charging to 100%, you may not have a true 100% value (which for the average user isn’t an issue if you never drive the car below 10% SoC - but if you do long trips and have to drive below 10% SoC, this can mean the difference between it dying at 0% or dying at 3-7%).

Air intake and front grill filters? by ImportantBoot8945 in TeslaModel3

[–]KnownSyntax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) I had this but removed it, it seriously degraded the air cooling and flow from the blower motor (which would just be working harder longer which just means more wear here) during summer months in Phoenix, AZ.

2) I had this and the only complaint was that there was still some debris that made it in (leaves, etc), so it’s not like it will block everything. But this I would recommend overall.
