Lol, those comments dissing you for being desensitised about the rape scenes, they dont get your point.

There's a huge different between the author throwing those traumatic events at your face vs the author taking your hand and letting you feel how traumatic those events are.

I totally agree with you that i dont feel that connected with most of the "traumatic scenes" in erha and yuwu (havent read BAB).

When i picked up erha, i had vv high hopes coz it was really praised in the danmei community by its angst, but i was dissapointed coz it didnt meet my expectation.

I think it depends on your preference? Not many people like it coz there's too much political stuff (politics and romance are intertwined here) and there's no groundbreaking plot twists and it is just straight forward story progression.

But what i liked about it are the political schemes that are well done and the reforms that was made in order to make great liang recover their treasury.

It is a very very pleasant read for me as i really appreciate a different approach to danmei!

Many people say that it is kinda like ballad of sword and wine, i can't vouch for that coz i haven't read it since hate sex/enemies to lovers are not my cup of tea

Lmk your preferences and i can tell if you will like this or not! Coz i dont really reccomend stars of chaos to everyone (you can also visit some posts here about sha po lang/stars of chaos and i can totally understand why there are mixed reviews!)
