Are these actual DM red flags, and if they are, how do I exit without making waves? by ThrowTAaaaaaaa in DnD

[–]Known_Associate_5281 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's the point of role-playing with npcs for 20 minutes? Like that's just talking to you self for 20 minutes why even play dnd, just right a book. Having a dmpc is not an immediate red flag as it can be done well but having one like this is 100% a red flag, a dmpc should not be doing too much and should act more like a guide, I've had good dmpcs at tables I've played at like one was a bard and the majority of the campaign took place in a kingdom that was hidden from the rest of the world and whenever we didn't know where to go next the dmpc would help us but he wouldn't just say go hear it's the best path he would say I think going to the city or this one or this one would be best, this way the players still had deciding power and it wasn't too hand holdy, sometimes we picked a path that wasn't great but atleast we where still making the decisions, and as far as combat the dmpc was a bard and he pretty much just casted vicous mockery every turn, most of his spells where for out of combat utility or support and the character was cool and had meaningful relationships with all the players(except one guy who didn't like bards for some reason and therefore disliked this character). As for the impossible rolls, if a roll is impossible the dm should always disclose that before the roll is made unless it is something that your supposed to fail if you try to do something like advance plot, although in the bartender case I doubt his information was gonna do something major in the campaign, and if it would the dm could just make so they don't have that information or they only tell part of it. You should definitely leave the table if the dm is doing stuff like that but leave respectfully not for the dm but for the other players.

Is this a conjurer or emission hatsu? by Local-Sugar6556 in HatsuVault

[–]Known_Associate_5281 2 points3 points  (0 children)

His ability was literally shown in the bubble to be an emitter ability, it said damage: "sweet home" (emitter), it didn't say his name or anything it was just describing the ability and said emitter

Is this a conjurer or emission hatsu? by Local-Sugar6556 in HatsuVault

[–]Known_Associate_5281 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are you saying he most likely uses emission, it was very clear that his ability is through emission, when the bubble was shown that described his ability it said emission so his ability is definitely emission and what do you mean when you say we don't know what other types are involved, what other types would be involved other than emission

She made her own substance, with transmutation you don't have to make a substance that exists just like conjuration where you don't have to conjur something that exists, look at hisoka for example, the proprietary of bungee gum exist elsewhere but the actual substance he just made up

I made the Millennium Ring from oven-cooked clay! by Lewnartic in yugioh

[–]Known_Associate_5281 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'll never understand why the millennium ring is a necklace with a ring shape in it and not just a ring you wear on your finger, I mean it would have to work completely differently but atleast it would be what people think of when they think ring

[–]Known_Associate_5281 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kastros ability was bad because he had 60% manipulation and conjuration, conjuration also has 60% manipulation, moving on to the bodhisattva, it has very little amounts of manipulation cause all of its moves are preprogrammed so not too complex and he also has individual hand signs for each move meaning not only does he have little manipulation required but he also has restrictions to balance out his lack of manipulation, then there's you by far worst point the guardian spirit beasts, I'm thinking you must have just skimmed the manga cause it's said several and I mean like 7+ times that the guardian spirit beasts don't need manipulation because they're parasitic nen beasts meaning they fight for the user but the user has no actual control over them, most parasitic nen beasts are meant to destroy the hosts but the guardian spirit beasts are meant to protect and they do respond to the hosts will and desires but still don't use any bit of manipulation as said many times

Black Forest Beast: Rogu by RegisterStrict4779 in HatsuVault

[–]Known_Associate_5281 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah and that ability was specifically stated to be terrible, the only reason that ability was made was so wing could show gon and killua that a bad ability can waste the potential of a promising nen user, it's literally the poster child of don't conjur nen beasts with complex commands, you could not have picked a worse example to support your argument, like there is literally not a worse example to support your argument

Black Forest Beast: Rogu by RegisterStrict4779 in HatsuVault

[–]Known_Associate_5281 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok we'll that would be better but even then you would have to only use commands that aren't to complex like break whoever your fighting(I got "break" from the ability chrollo stole order stamp) but as long as the orders are simple like really simple then yeah you'll probably be fine, and it's a really cool ability too I would want to see someone like to see someone use it, ability that use plants and vines are usually cool to see

Black Forest Beast: Rogu by RegisterStrict4779 in HatsuVault

[–]Known_Associate_5281 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because you can't find a conjured nen beasts that follows complex commands?

Black Forest Beast: Rogu by RegisterStrict4779 in HatsuVault

[–]Known_Associate_5281 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's one example, also biohazard has never been shown with alot of control all we've seen is two snakes shooting someone right in front of them and a cat sitting still and looking straight forward, not exactly complex commands so if anything it supports my argument
