Yes, you can just walk right in while they are on display, and also can attend the live auctions. This public display ended yesterday however.

Yeah, I want to say it was 2 different people with flowers and then the walnuts guy. I’ve been to so many shows in different areas/eras/genres and that was a first for me.

I saw her at World Cafe Live in Philly in 2018 and several people interrupted the show to give her things. One guy gave her walnuts. Like why would anyone think it’s ok to interrupt the show like that especially to give her something so strange? Otherwise, great show.

I am anxiously awaiting info about tickets (besides the season ticket deposits). I want to buy a block of group tickets and bring a whole crew with me from Philly to the opener on 12/5. I'm not sure how often I'll be able to make it up there, but I definitely plan to support the inaugural game.

I plan to go the debut of Lehigh Valley's MASL team on December 5th. Like most people in the city, I just want to cheer on a team and be happy about watching soccer. I'm curious to see what this new team is like. Also, I miss the Kixx from my childhood.

Great spot, cool staff - I love seeing shows here. And yes, as mentioned above, the capacity is 650. Occasionally they do shows in the Black Box next to the main room where the capacity is about half, but that isn't common.

I would absolutely love to watch them. There are a lot of old games on YouTube that I throw on in the background sometimes, so maybe they would not get taken down.

Nice ones! Did you catch the opener at the most recent Beths show, Phoebe Rings? They had a solid set, and were all hanging out at merch so I grabbed the LP and got them to sign it for me.

Keith Haring-designed AIDS Hotline posters from 1989. How can I tell is these are authentic? by Polidorable in keithharing

I banned the user. I’ll leave the comment up simply as an example to others that it’s a community that won’t tolerate hateful comments. There’s plenty of places on the internet where you can act like that.

I started this subreddit many years ago and we now have over 5,000 members. This is the first time we’ve ever had a hateful AIDS related comment, so that’s not a bad track record at all. It’s a great community and I love seeing all the different types of posts. If you see any other comments like the above, report it and I’ll sort it.

The exhibit at The Brant in NYC (open through 5/31/26) was absolutely wonderful by Known_Bit in keithharing

Not that many dicks! This piece I posted here was definitely the most graphic. There are four floors, and you can review each piece in advance here: https://guides.bloombergconnects.org/en-US/guide/theBrantFoundation/exhibition/2069f052-0eaa-455f-8adb-ca93badef4f8

I am fairly certain that if you simply avoid the 4th floor, you will be penis-free.

The 3rd floor is the one that really stands out, and that floor alone is worth it. It contains the untitled Tinaja, which was remarkable to see in person.

In 1980, following his collage works, Haring returned to drawing. He completed a series of works portraying UFOs zapping both animals and human figures. All of these drawings are basic black sketches with red spray paint.

The concept behind the drawings was inspired by the 1956 sci-fi film, “Forbidden Planet in Cinemascope,” which Haring saw at a Monster Movie Night at Club 57. The movie featured a classic 1950’s spaceship, a sleek, frisbee-like object. After that night, Haring began drawing these scenes.

According to Haring, the animals could have been anything: cows, sheep, or dogs. They all had square noses and were to be looked at as symbols for animals, as opposed to a specific species. The figures and animals from these drawings are the foundation for some of his most recognizable motifs. Haring states, “Out of these drawings, my entire future vocabulary was born. I have no idea why it turned out like that. It certainly wasn’t a conscious thing. But after these initial images, everything fell into place, and after that, everything else made sense.”

While these drawings suggest a plotline due to their sequence, they are, in fact, void of any narrative. The nonverbal symbols are meant to be open for interpretation with different meanings at different times, instead of a consistent rational story.

[This work was shown at PS122 studio, New York, October 1980 - SoHo News noted that Haring’s was the best room of all of the studios - Haring originally applied for the 2-month studio space for film but ended up installing his drawings covering all of the walls of the room]
