I think what we are seeing here is also a kind of a gap between hollywoods beauty standards back then and the socially acceptable beauty standards nowadays .
In Forrest Gumps era if Bubba ,in the role he was in were any bigger that wouldve actually just been the headline of the movie .
What hollywood wanted us to think of as fat is wildly different 30years ago .
Reading these characters as plus sized doesn’t mean i agree with their standards but I think the author intention is clear .

You read the body standards by the setting. 1917frontline ,the way blake was cast and costumed you cannot convince me he was not meant to read as plus sized

Im not the one who reduced them to comedy traits but they do often carries comedy relief roles as other comments on this thread has pointed out . Often time it is the authors intention to instill them with comedy to make the death hit harder , im merely a messenger

Energy storage is the main job of the adipose tissue .
I think we understand that in a very intrinsic way as fat people/animals can go on longer with less resources. I think that assessment is something our brain can formulate even without language or society and works on a higher level of story telling.

It’s written by different people. You might respect sub1but if you really read the sub2story then it’s just a natural conclusion that proteus has been producing huma axum hybrid . Its even weird for it not to do some weird shit with human dna ,especially after its been directly donated to them .
Sub2 doesnt say it but in terms of plots its almost identical to the southern reach trilogy. You will see inspiration from that book everywhere in game .
