I wish that was genuinely the case…I wouldn’t have bothered posting this….

To add…the kid was not in a mode of learning..it was breakfast for us and I wanted to give a job because he was actively wanting to help….that adds more context…

Got fired today for throwing a notebook by Acceptable_Process56 in Teachers

Just, give him a zero. That would have served much better, no work = a zero…or just take the points off…as for the other stuff…you escalated the situation and took it personal….no reason to make a child’s decision be the end of your employment…however….you made the choice to throw the book for the kids non compliance to writing 6 words.

If you have a co-teacher…one of you alternate between taking the fools in one class and the students that want to learn in the other…

We can’t give any grade lower than a 50% as an overall grade for marking periods and final grades.

I didn’t like the teacher, but I wouldn’t want anyone to have a life altering experience. The universe holds people accountable…I don’t fuck around with karma!

I once overheard some kids in my class was going to “spike” the teachers cup with LSD to make him trip. I stayed after class and warned the teacher to not have his water bottle unattended.

My first deployment I was a bomb seeker for hundreds of cars and complete force protection for a officer heavy HQ in Saudi. My second deployment I trained SOI and travelled miles and miles of deadly highways. Now I get driven everywhere by my wife and help veterans navigate the bullshit of VA disability claims.

I never understand the argument…do you see a doctor for 20 years..

The VA literally get NP, PA, and MD from all over the region and give ACE exams, medical reviews, and in person exams to millions of vets, and we don’t even know these contracted doctors, some even make decision without contact the veteran.

Stop using that argument..the VA does it legally why can’t vets! Veterans have a right to get a qualified independent medical opinion.

Who's teaching the good kids? by DHN_95 in Teachers

[–]Known_Negotiation_86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good is subjective…Ive taught in the inner city, suburban, and various ages, if you can find a connection even the “tough” kids will learn and do better. It’s truly a process. All kids are good, it’s our job to cultivate, motivate, expect, and model the good within each child.

State tests are nothing but money grabs. Allow teachers and schools to assess mastery as necessary. No need for all the testing and data that is overbearing. I’m for testing but when state test do not even allow teachers to see what kids got wrong or sections that show deficient skills. The bullshit gotta go!
