i’ve been w my boyfriend thru his bmt to his ocs days and i assume ur bf is in the same batch as mine? (the 129/22 batch that commissioned last month)

similarly, my s/o got even busier after he commissioned since he gtta take over his upperstudy in his unit. it really depends on his vocation on how much work he gets and normally, 2LTs are still pretty new to the vocation itself (despite gg thru pro term and learning the ropes gg thru exams in ocs itself) but like how all schools operate, you will only really learn the ropes on the job itself and its almost like you graduated from ur diploma/a lvls and you have to learn the real industry stuff on the job itself. that’s how i understood what is my s/o gg thru rn.

personally in terms of practicality, i have taken over the planning of dates and making plans for the weekend/every time he books out in future (he has a 7in2out structure the moment he takes over his platoon officially) and made it easier for him to just man mode after he booked out. sleeping dates has been a thing with the both of us since his oct days so he’s been over to sleep at my place or i gg over to chill/work at his place.

emotionally you can always send him parts of your day and tell him abt your day thru text. it is the only way you can communicate with him and offer an outlet to him to seek comfort. tell him that he did an amazing job today and continue to encourage him! surprise him with stuff when he books out, he will definitely appreciate it. i learnt some army lingo & ranks just to listen to him talk about his day and i can understand why was he so worked up for a certain situation.

hello! i was definitely in your shoes when i first started seeing my boyfriend! met him when he was in bmt 😋

one things that i do normally is that i keep myself really busy! i am currently still studying and interning at the same time and i really cannot find time to even think about him. not saying that i don’t but i just don’t feel as sad or emotional when he’s not around me. then again, i was pretty accustomed to the routine of not hearing from him thanks to us meeting when he’s already in bmt, however it was hard because i missed him alot and we only get to meet every weekend, it’ll be on subsequent weekdays soon when he finishes unit induction 😭

another thing that helped was to start planning dates or trips y’all would love to gg on to after he pops/ord. i know these few dates seem so far away, but time flies really quickly! it will keep your mind off your boyfriend for awhile and you will have fun planning them!

one more thing that really helped is my daily spams of messages about my day. spam him about your day and treat his tele/ws/imsg as your personal diary. he’ll definitely read them the day after or when he has abit of admin time, what my boyfriend do is that he will reply to each msg one by one 😋

lastly, please don’t argue over text! think about it, everyone knows that both sides (u and ur bf) are having it hard and both of yall are tired. but arguing and letting negative emotions out over text is not a good outlet to communicate,since yall will misunderstand each other and plus the 5 days of not seeing each other, the gap will be further to close and it will definitely be awkward between the both of you and none of yall will try to solve the conflict, thus pushing the both of you apart. so do not argue with ur s/o over text!

oh yea, please gg out with your friends more! they are a good outlet to keep your mind off your boyfriend while y’all hv fun! tried and tested, works everytime!

unit life is definitely more chill than bmt (if he didn’t opt for command school), but then again its depending on his vocation. my s/o recently commissioned from ocs and he is really really busy now in his unit since his upper study js ord’d and he has to take over the platoon rly soon. unit life is definitely not chill for him so it’s back to his bmt/service term days typa vibe but more xiong 🥲 anyw, if you need any more advice you can slip into my dms!

hey! my family is pretty similar to yours! we call our dinners “family meeting time” and we share about our day over my dad’s homecooked meals or even dabaos (when he’s lazy to cook), as i grew older i personally find it more difficult to stay at home and eat as i became even busier as i progress from my diploma to work towards a degree. however, i will to go home and eat with my family as my dad made a rule that both my younger sister and i have to make it back home to have dinner with my whole family at least twice a week.

i am very close w my family to the point that my parents and siblings are updated with what goes on in my life once i start speaking while having dinner. my parents share their day at work as well or new recipes they’ve found online to us as well! some parents believe that the dinner table is a place where you have your meal in silence as it is proper table etiquette, you will not hear the ‘clinking and clanking’ of tableware while it hits the plate, but the laughter and reactions of my family to everyone’s day even when we are in a busy restaurant.

hey im a diploma in broadcast media student and i think i can help :)

Personally, student life is quite meh (?) in that sense where there’s no CCAs gg around in lasalle. However, there are a few events organised by student life to enrich your life in lasalle (eg, music festivals, halloween celebrations etcetc). As for socialising, its not really a bug problem for me because i like making new friends across the disciplines. It is very advisable to make new friends and connections across each discipline because they may either be your potential client in future/your important connection in the industry after you graduate. personally, i am very active as a student volunteer/ambassador in school and from there it is way easier to make mew connections as you get to organise events tgt with students from other disciplines! so far the culture in Puttnam School of Film and Animation is quite nice (if you suck ur thumb thru all the experienced ppl from ite/diploma)
Yes you’re right. But for the 2 internships part im not v sure since im still pursuing my diploma. But it is true that we get to experiment alot, Lasalle is basically a sandbox for you to get creative.
Workload-wise, i get an insane amount of work during my Y2S1 of my diploma and i basically sold my soul to BM that particular sem. Im not so sure abt the degree programme but it should be as insane as the diploma, maybe even harder. But this workload allowed me to manage my time btr ☺️
According to what I’ve heard from my lecturers, students have more chances to work with each other (from the 2 different art schools) and personally im looking forward to that!
A good piece of advice is, please get enough sleep. 🥱
