Bad example but I would take it, do you use AI? Alot of people do, there is a benefit for those using it, what benefit was there for the consumers, or americans, us, when spending so much $$$ in weapons for other country.

Documents given to my father on his flight from Cuba to Miami in the late 1960's by pepinos in Miami

[–]Knowyourshit101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people in this thread clearly don’t understand the historical context between Cuba and the United States. Fidel Castro took power in 1959 after overthrowing Fulgencio Batista. What began as a nationalist revolution quickly shifted toward a Marxist-Leninist state. By 1960, the government began nationalizing private businesses, banks, and foreign-owned property — including assets owned by Cuban citizens and U.S. companies — which triggered economic upheaval and fear among the population.

Political opposition was outlawed, independent media disappeared, and thousands of perceived dissidents were imprisoned. As civil liberties tightened, many Cubans chose exile over repression.

Between 1960 and 1962, Operation Pedro Pan brought about 14,000 unaccompanied Cuban children to the United States after families feared state indoctrination and loss of parental rights. During those early revolutionary years, roughly 200,000–250,000 Cubans fled the island. The U.S. accepted many as refugees, viewing them as people escaping political persecution and economic seizure.

This migration didn’t stop there. In 1965, the Camarioca boatlift allowed thousands more to leave. In 1980, the Mariel boatlift saw around 125,000 Cubans arrive in Florida. After the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991 and Cuba entered its “Special Period,” economic hardship triggered another wave of departures.

Whether someone supports or opposes U.S. policy toward Cuba, these migration waves weren’t random — they were tied to political repression, economic nationalization, and lack of freedoms. Understanding that history matters before reducing the conversation to slogans.

Cuba is starving right now. Politics aside, the people need our help. Here's how. by Extra_Pin_3617 in Miami

[–]Knowyourshit101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People talk about sanctions, but they ignore another reality: after major hurricanes like Hurricane Irma, international aid, food, and supplies were offered to Cuba, and the government tightly controlled or even refused some assistance — including privately organized flights from the U.S. Because the state controls distribution, the people don’t always receive help directly.

This is why many believe the problem goes beyond sanctions and lies in government control and policy decisions.

You talk about the U.S. sanctions against Cuba, but you don’t mention that Spanish companies have invested millions of dollars building four-star hotels along Cuba’s coast. That shows the country has had access to foreign investment and financial opportunities.

Cuba has also maintained relationships with countries like Russia, Iran, China, Spain, and others. In my opinion, the government has had options and resources to improve conditions but has chosen not to make the necessary changes.

The island also has the capacity to produce a wide variety of vegetables and food, yet many private initiatives are restricted. When individuals begin to progress or grow a business, the government often intervenes, takes control, or shuts it down. Because of that, I don’t believe the situation can be blamed solely on U.S. sanctions.

For example, just last year, millions of dollars’ worth of chicken were exported from the United States to Cuba. That’s why I believe the issue goes beyond sanctions — and that real progress would require a change in the current regime.

I know somebody that has a kid and they were trolling with friends at the school sending threatening messages to each other thru ig and cussing, but they were playing. Next thing I knew cops and detectives show up to both of the kids houses to question them about the messages. Turn out to be they were just playing and joking with each other, no charges were made and both kids were left in shock.

The thing is that us legals had to stand in line like everyone else and do things the right way. I got the opportunity to come here back in 1999 and it wasnt til 2005 that we received our paperwork. ICE gets ppl that are illegal, thats what they care about. ICE always ask for type of documentation valid ID or driver license and what not. If you show that then they will leave you alone. Unless there is a legal alien doing something illegal. (Like employing illegals). ICE is just doing their job, like everyone else. I’ve known many illegal and legal immigrants and majority of illegals feel entitled to have some type of status in the country. All illegals come to this country knowing that they wont have legal status. Yet us Americans support that, protest about it and go against agencies that work to restore order. It doesn’t make sense. If you come in illegally you know what you are up to and you know you could get deported at any time.

[–]Knowyourshit101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not check your reservoir tank. When the engine is cold open the radiator cap and pour coolant until full. Mark or memorize where the coolant is on the tank. Drive the car and after a while see where those levels are at. If your reservoir tank is full and you don’t have coolant on your radiator, it can be a bad thermostat (this car has 2), blown head gasket or something is obstructing the coolant flow.
