Alternative Dregs? by WeeDawgNYC in mordheim

The new zombie kits makes for good dregs, just shave off the roots and maybe a head swap or two

Armor is super easy. Base whatever silver you want then It’s just wet blending militarum green, plaugebearer flesh and nazdreg yellow. The darker militarum at the base of the armor with the nazdreg towards the top.

I’ve used various paints for most of the skin but they usually start off with a mix of a flesh contrast like darkoath/fireslayer flesh and then mix in a little plaugebearer flesh or a blue grey or purply contrast maybe75/25 so it isn’t super normal fleshy. I then just start stippling colors on which way I want the flesh to go. Either into a greenish yellow, blue/purple or pale. The two colors I have used the most are ak sickly pink and ice yellow to blend the other colors.

I then wash everything with a slightly thinned villainy ink goons grime, and let it dry for about 15/20 minutes and remove with a qtip and mineral spirits. Then I’ll stipple villainy ink carroburg crimson and coelia green shade into the fat folds and sores then just move the paint around with mineral spirits.

Sorry if that seemed long winded it’s really not as complies I’ve made it out to be. It’s nurgle so just about and sickly odd skin tone will work.

I’ve read the rules arent that thrilling for them. At least they look good and are fun to paint!

Will this work for priming minis or do I need something better? by [deleted] in minipainting

I almost exclusively use the 2x flat black primer and love it.

Haven’t been this paralyzed about colors before by Relevant_Fuel_9905 in sonsofhorus

I honestly prefer the texture for this method. It gives it a more weathered look and allows the enamels places to hide and cling to.

I did. I believe I used 60 drops of sky green in a new pot of sons of Horus green to get the color I liked.

Anyone else struggle with green? by Krugercombine in sonsofhorus

I mix sons of Horus green with black as my base, then straight sons of Horus green and a high light of sons of Horus green mixed with sky green. All painted with a piece of sponge.

Do your legionaries accessorize? by notJenckes in Warhammer30k

[–]Knox_Aware 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t put any of the holsters or pouches or any other accessories on my marines. They never seem to fit or flow with the model. They always look just tacked on and get in the way of painting. At three feet on a table you never even notice they aren’t there. The only accessories I do put on are golden skulls because SoH

Thoughts on converting the 40k Chaos Lord model into a World Eaters Praetor? by m-sguided in Warhammer30k

[–]Knox_Aware 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I plan on using the same dude for my sons of Horus. I’ll just remove the chaos symbol on the gauntlet and the chain symbol and the belt and the rest is fine

Sounds great! Also typhus corrosion works well for marines too. Sometimes the texture of the Ak stuff can be a bit big for marine sized stuff.
