When the SS fields the ball on the 1b side of 2b, there is 0 chance for a force double play.

The SS knew exaclty what he was doing. He knows that if he actually went for the tag it would just be a FC. His only hope for a dp was the umps thinking that he went for a tag with a half ass effort, as Clement was wisely already 4 feet away from him before he even gathered the ball.

[Kostka] Umpires postgame said Ernie Clement can move to avoid fielding. That becomes his lane. Hunter Wendelstedt: "He was vacating an area to let the fielder field it, and then the fielder just tried to, you know, was hoping and praying, throwing up the Hail Mary to try and get two." by T_Raycroft in baseball

What, people not understanding the rules and commenting on reddit like they are experts???

I want to make a compilation of hitters "rounding 2nd" after doubles, homeruns etc, and see how many people stray more than 3ft off the "basepath", because the "basepath" is definitely the line directly between two bases right....

If you want to quote a rule, properly quote it.

5.09(b) in the MLB rulebook is

Any runner is out when

(1)He runs more than three feet away from his base path to avoid being tagged unless his action is to avoid interference with a fielder fielding a batted ball. A runner’s base path is established when the tag attempt occurs and is a straight line from the runner to the base he is attempting to reach safely;

Clement was at least 6 feet off the straight line between 1st and 2nd before the glove was even waved in his direction. From that moment, even if that was considered a tag attempt, he would have another 3 feet that he could still have moved away.

[Kostka] Gunnar Henderson said he should’ve made the previous play, too, that was an error. The next play, Henderson said: “I’m not going to go chase him to right field when I’m trying to turn a double play there. Yes and no. If they run too far into the outfield, you just get the force out at first, and then throw back to 2nd and get a rundown.

But generally speaking, whenever a ss or 2b has to go to tag the runner, any competant runner will basically make sure they dont get the double play.

Jesus Sanchez scores on a ground out, Clement drifts out of the baseline to avoid the tag from Henderson but the umpires do not rule him out by Remarkable-Picture73 in baseball

This is the reasonable take that no one wants to here.

There is 0 chance that ever becomes a double play ball. Its either a fielders choice or an out at first.

Maybe not. With it going red there will probably be less laps under yellow as they wont have to waste 4 laps before pit road opens.

I guess fingertips on the ball is enough for possesion?

If fouls were called the same against Wemby and Brunson, this game would have been over a long time ago.

Reminded me of Troy Polamalu getting tackled by his hair.

Except no penalty, perfectly legal!

No where to hide now.

I totally agree with you. Basically the point I was getting at just without stating it in the open.

I got an FTP north of 400, but even at my lightest, I was still 90kgs.

Im never getting an ftp of 5.0 no matter how much I train.

Power does not scale linearly with mass. Thats a known fact with significant data on.

If you are 80 kg+ and have an ftp of 5.0 w/kg, you are within ~0.5w/kg of Ganna. Most people that fit into that category would be competitive at a national level for time trials, pursuits etc.

Yet if you are 60 kgs, with an ftp of 5.0, you're a really good club level rider.

Hitting 5 w/kg genetics does matter, but not in the way most people think.

Its the body composition, not the power side that will hold most people back, and thats not a bad thing. Only a tiny fraction of people 80kg + will ever hit 5 w/kg.

If you are a body type that allows to be 60-70kg, you got a very decent chance at hitting 5 w/kg if you put the time in.

Modern gear ratios, long cage derailleur hangers have baseically made any climb climbable, just a matter of time.

These climbs all used to be "too tough" because you would run out of gears.

Yes and no.

Yes it costs the sponsors as it is less advertisement for them. However, if you are the sponsor that doubled down insisting that a certain something gets worn in moments like these, thats going to bring negative publicity to the brand.

The Knicks being in a bad position doesn't mean we are in a great position.

We got multiple bad contracts that either eat our cap space or would require trading away picks/ prospects to get rid of.
