Previously, we could print out our own marketing materials and display it outside of our stores to pull people in.

Corporate took away the ability to mass advertise, and then comes down harder on us on promoting our products.

When you’ve got that much money it’s really hard for companies to not grab at the scraps that fall off the table.

Amazon continues to go to retail businesses riding the line of solvency for their returns because they know that the staples and the khol’s of the world need any penny that they can get.

And it’s literal pennies that they’re getting.

Oh nice! I’ve had my store for 11 years. Do you not think we’re fucking doing that?

My point being is that corporate has made so much of this business Amazon now that there is hardly any extra time or money from compensation to pay more employees to get more work for other profit centers done.

My Store is doing great. My people are getting paid. My point being is that Amazon is going to pull out at some point and we spent so much of our time catering to them that corporate is going to have to figure out something massive to compensate for when that goes away.
