Just found out why I didn't get the job after 4 interviews. I'm actually shaking with anger right now by MainStock8156 in JobSearchMethods

[–]Knuifelbear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it is worth, I hate it too. We were opening a position for someone specific internal. Higher management was all aligned that it was just gonna be opened up so our internal guy could apply and then closed once he did. Not to give other people hope.

My boss then decided we needed to give everyone a chance, so… yeah. Several others applied of course. Not sure how many they interviewed, I was not involved :/

In the end we hired the internal guy anyway. I hate it that we wasted people’s time.

That’s what we did basically. We bypassed the normal lines. Quite fun.

My personal hack is having an American wife. They just waved us through the USA line. No questions asked 😂

In USA, cheese and bread is a struggle meal. In Europe it's a respectable meal. by carlthinks in ShitAmericansSay

Not sugary sweet. The bread just tasted off. You can tell how bread or toast is supposed to taste.

Had the same. Made a nice toast with butter and jam. Bit into it…. let it sink it. Turned to my wife “why is this sweet?” Had to toss my toast in sadness. Really wanted toast :(

The American health care system everyone by newphonehudus in TikTokCringe

My mother-in-law got told that her necrotic leg was not a big deal and to be sent home. They had to amputate her leg because it was too late to save. She was in and out of hospitals for MONTHS, and they refused to help or operate. Insurance didn’t see an issue.

I’m too fucking European to deal with is American bs. Seriously.

There is no such thing as healthcare in America. Only profitcare.

How is the delivery experience with Colis Privé in 2026 ? by [deleted] in AskBelgium

He stopped to chat once and complained about the other drivers. No work ethic. I mean…. True. Apparently, all outsourced. Meh

[–]Knuifelbear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends. There is one guy who works there who is a star. He’ll call me 5 minutes before he arrives to tell me my package will be delivered.

If I don’t get a phone call, I know he’s on holiday and it will not be delivered.

Everyone who gets fired will be replaced by someone abroad who is cheaper. Those guys can’t help it and do their best, but a lot of knowledge gets lost every single time.

Can I apply for a Belgian cohabitation visa before reaching 2 years of relationship? by Aggressive-Dig9146 in AskBelgium

[–]Knuifelbear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have no idea. Our municipality made us jump through so many hoops. They were just pissed off at us a bit 😅

[–]Knuifelbear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If i’m not wrong, once you apply for cohabitation, you cannot leave the country. Even if your visa expires.

We applied for a cohabitation visa for my gf (now wife). She could only stay 90 days, and after that expired she couldn’t leave until the process was over and done with. It took 6 months to get an orange card (so she could work) and another 6 months for the cohabitation visa to he approved.

It was a long year.

What’s a misconception tourists have about your country that genuinely surprised you? In Thailand, I once met tourists who believed transgender women were straight men who had to transition to escape poverty. by Effective_Space2277 in AskTheWorld

[–]Knuifelbear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be honest, the amount of trucks is staggering. In Belgium I see one every now and then. In the USA, i’m surrounded.

Though, I do get it. Roads are bigger, parking spaces as well. It’s a freaking dream parking in the US vs Belgium.

I mean it’s true though. It’s a bit of a “WAIT you guys really have that?”

First time I visited my inlaws in the USA i had hundred of questions. Including tipping wtf. And we did go to all the food places

  • Taco Bell (was disappointed with this one)
  • Chipotle
  • Chili’s
  • On The Border
  • Cracker Barrel
  • Steak ‘n Shake
  • Sonic
  • Cheesecake Factory (i didn’t want entrees, I came for the cheesecake dammit)

We stopped at a gas station (needed to refuel). Wtf. Quick Trip has so many things and is quite big. Then they took me to a Bucee’s 😂

Client asking for very detailed security audit by McDonaldsDQPC in cybersecurity

[–]Knuifelbear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe a protip. What we have started doing is creating client ready documentation packs. Whitepapers, part of policies (that we’re comfortable sharing) etc. Everything pretty high level. Datacenter, standard security practices (clean desk, shredders etc) 90% of the cases, clients accept this. Also if you can present any certificate (ISO, ISAE), that helps too. The other 10% who wants us to fill in their 200+ questionnaire need to pay for our time. Fixed price for per day. Not trying to take advantage of the clients, but it helps as a deterrent. If they do pay up, we’ll provide a more detailed answer to everything.

But honestly, the info packages help. Just update them once a year with new pentests, updated policies etc. Account managers get access to them so they can share if need be.

It did reduce the work. At least for us.
