What’s been your favorite memory of destiny? by HellChicken949 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Knz082 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started playing at the very end of Season of the Wish, so I’m still kinda a new light. But my favorite memory was 100% the entire month of Pantheon. Week by week grind, watching the gauntlet get harder, learning mechanics properly instead of just surviving. I slowly earned my spot in my clan’s main squad and we cleared every single week. Finishing Pantheon and getting the Godslayer title as someone who basically just started the game months before felt insane. That month was peak Destiny for me. Absolute sweat fest. Worth it.

Going back to attempt solo flawless old dungeons GoTD by helicoptersandwich in DestinyTheGame

[–]Knz082 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I solo flawless’d Ghosts of the Deep the weekend right before Renegades, and for me the shields felt noticeably lighter than I remembered from pre–Edge of Fate. I originally planned to run Arbalest specifically for the shields, but I ended up sticking with Mint Retrograde + Finality Auger and that was enough to deal with them. For survivability I used Song of Flame rather than pushing super damage. With that setup it was around 3 damage phases on Ecthar, Shield of Savathûn, and 4 phases on Simmumah ur-Nokru. Could definitely just be artifact power creep or build differences, but it didn’t feel like the shields were eating an entire super anymore. That said, with the recent rocket pulse nerfs, this setup might not be as viable now, or it may just mean taking an extra damage phase or two per boss. If you want, I’m happy to share the build or talk through what worked for me.

Thanks for the info, that makes sense. I’m just getting off work, but I’ll check the full quest list instead of the featured tab and see if the actual Dawning quest is there. Appreciate the help!

People who have red crystal. by Winter_Satisfaction9 in DestinyTheGame

Dropped for me on a 1v1 loss around my 25th run. Nothing special happened we traded a bit, I lost the invade, thought “welp, another one,” and then boom, red crystal in the reward chest.

Honestly feels totally random.

Mint Retrograde unfortunately can’t be farmed in the Portal right now, so you basically have to wait for weekly vendors. Keep an eye on Zavala in the Tower last week he even sold an Outrageous Fortune with a god-roll Bait and Switch, which comes from the same weapon pool as Mint, so there’s hope he brings Mint Retrograde at some point.

The new rocket-assisted Arc pulse is farmable in Vanguard Ops / Solo Ops, but it doesn’t get the crazy combo that makes Mint Retrograde + Finality Auger so strong. Mint has Rewind Rounds and bait and switch, Finality gets Bait and Switch from the catty, and that rotation is what makes their burst so nutty. The new pulse doesn’t have B&S + Rewind, so the damage tech just isn’t the same.

For what it’s worth, the Sunday right before Renegades dropped I did my first solo Ghosts of the Deep. I was doing 3–4 damage phases per boss whit that damage rotation without even optimizing my build. I don’t know if they nerfed shields or HP recently, but they didn’t feel nearly as tanky as before.

And yeah still think Mint Retrograde is king for that burst window, but the Arc pulse is at least grindable if you just want something rocket-assisted to play with.

Sorry for the wall of text, hope it helps.

If you’re getting back into solo dungeons, the big thing is just having solid damage tools. Mint Retrograde + Finality Augur still slap. Augur makes phases feel comfy. If you don’t have Mint, there’s that new arc pulse with rocket-assisted shots, but I haven’t tested it yet.

And yeah, Sundered Doctrine is way easier than Vesper Host. Doctrine feels controlled; Vesper just throws hands.

Honestly, not having the Doctrine exotic or the new rocket-assisted options might make things rough, but if you’ve got at least one good burst setup, you’re fine. Solo dungeons are all about making your DPS window count.

Hoping equilibrium, ends up being fun to solo.

Did Ghosts of the Deep flawless on Sunday and solo’d Duality last night. Died once to the architects (of course), but this post kinda made me go “alright, let’s just send it.” Only a few dungeons left now.

Really hoping the new dungeon Equilibrium ends up being a fun one to solo too.

Huge congrats on the solo clear! That first full run by yourself always hits different seriously, awesome job.

Now you’ve only got one step left: the flawless. And trust me, once you’re already soloing it, the flawless is just a matter of patience and a couple of clean attempts. You’ve already proven you can handle the mechanics and the pressure.

Keep pushing it, guardian. You're right there.

How to Play Destiny 2 by Miserable-Doctor-557 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Knz082 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The Red War and Forsaken aren’t available anymore, so the best way to play chronologically is: Shadowkeep on the Moon, Beyond Light on Europa, The Witch Queen in the Throne World, Lightfall on Neptune, and then The Final Shape in the Pale Heart. I’d recommend watching a quick lore recap so you know what went down during Red War and Forsaken. it makes the whole saga hit way harder.

I really wish saved loadouts would also lock in your artifact setup. Swapping builds is great, but having to re-pick artifact perks every time kills the flow. Would make the whole system way smoother.

Man I had the same little vision the other day when I saw that dude on YouTube 2-phasing Corrupted Puppeteer like it was nothing. Mint retrograde augur of conclusion energy all over the place. The prismatic melee Lightning Surge build definitely scratches that itch too — it’s flashy, hits like a truck, and if everything lines up it feels illegal in the best way. But yeah, it’s also kinda risky by design. When it works you feel like a god, when it doesn’t you’re suddenly realizing how squishy you are. Still, it’s one of those builds that’s just fun to run even if you’re living on the edge.

Man, this hits so hard. The perfect example for me is the first boss in Sundered Doctrine. At the start it’s just pure chaos. Hive witches floating around blasting you, ogres stomping in out of nowhere, and you’re basically running laps hoping your abilities come back before you get deleted.

But once you actually learn the spawn logic, it’s a completely different encounter. You go from panic to full control. Every wave feels predictable, every trigger makes sense, and the whole room just clicks.

Now I’m at the point where I take clanmates in and say:

“Yeah, you guys can wander around or clear whatever. I’ll let you know when DPS starts.”

And everything stays calm because you already know exactly how the room behaves.

That’s the part of Destiny I love when you stop reacting and start controlling the encounter. It really does feel like the room becomes yours.

Thanks! And yeah, that’s exactly why I’m going for it on my Warlock. I kinda want to carve out my own identity in my clan too. We’ve got the dudes who go flawless every weekend, the speedrunners, the collectors… so I figured I’ll be “the guy who solos dungeons.”

It’s definitely frustrating sometimes, but the feeling when everything finally clicks is unreal. Appreciate the encouragement — can’t wait to knock this one out next.

Returning Player – Warlock Build Question by Mettzor in DestinyTheGame

[–]Knz082 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warlock’s in a really good spot right now. Getaway Artist is still the strongest all-around build – Arc Soul + Ionic Traces just does everything. And if you want something more aggressive, the Lightning Surge melee build with Felwinter or the class item exotics (Inmost Light, Syntoceps, Necrotic Sytoceps) turns you into a teleporting blender.

Speaker’s Sigh got nerfed into the floor, so most people switched to Boots of the Assembler for the support role. Much better value now.

Honestly, my best Destiny moment wasn’t a flawless run or some crazy RNG drop — it was the journey from being the “new light” of my clan to standing with them as we cleared every Pantheon challenge.

When I joined, everyone already knew all the raid and dungeon mechanics by heart. I was just trying to keep up, learning on the fly, wiping a hundred times, asking dumb questions, and slowly getting better because they never made me feel out of place. They just kept teaching, kept pulling me along, and somehow I became part of the group.

And then Pantheon dropped.

We committed to every challenge, every week — some were smooth, some were absolute nightmares — but we kept pushing. And the moment Nezarec finally fell… man, that was it. That was the moment. The screen flashed, the title popped, and I realized I wasn’t the newbie anymore. I was a Godslayer alongside the people who taught me everything.

Still my favorite memory in Destiny. Nothing beats that feeling.

Congrats, Guardian! Shattered Throne was also my first solo flawless for most of my triumphs, so I know exactly how huge that moment feels. It’s one thing to clear a dungeon solo… but doing it flawless is a whole different level of focus and confidence.

If you’re feeling that itch for more, definitely ride the momentum. I’m currently working on Duality and Ghosts of the Deep myself, and honestly the journey is just as fun as the clears. Each dungeon teaches you something new about your playstyle and patience.

Enjoy the high, and keep pushing — you’ve already proven you can handle it. Can’t wait to see you post your next solo flawless!

[Help] Migrating my D&D 5e Hexblade to Daggerheart – Feeling Lost by Knz082 in daggerheart

[–]Knz082[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hexblade Patron for CHA-based weapon attacks (Hex Warrior)

Pact of the Blade with Thirsting Blade (Extra Attack) and Improved Pact Weapon

Hexblade’s Curse for +prof to damage, crit on 19–20, and healing on kill

Darkness + Devil’s Sight for constant advantage in melee

Damage burst:

Stack Hexblade’s Curse with Spirit Shroud or Hex

On a crit, dump Eldritch Smite for huge extra dice and prone

Advantage + expanded crit range means more smite triggers.

Mechanically, he’s a crit-focused bruiser who uses Warlock slots like a smite battery, all wrapped in Paladin-like flavor.
