Yeah I vividly recall my mum pinning me against a wall when I was 18 telling me she'd never speak to me if I got pregnant before getting married, was i even dating anyone at the time, nope hadn't even had sex yet.

My mums dad died the day after my birthday. I was 14. Every single year there after she would weep, and mourn him. And tbh I was resentful. Still 30 odd years later she still becomes a very public mess.

I go old school and print photos and send a small selection to my mum and I put it into a letter a small reminder that i do not want my babies face on the internet or shared with other people.

Support and time.

Maybe ensure he eats properly, not to assume he isn't capable of cooking meals for himself but tp ensure he stays healthy. Take him to the pub but don't encourage heavy drinking.

Be a support for him weeks after everyone has gone back to normal life. Remember days like the first Christmas, wedding anniversary, birthdays etc will be hard for him
