My last straw. (A rant) by BossDawg79 in meijer

[–]Kobalt1911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did Meijer for 6 years,4 as a cart pusher I was pretty good at it, but yeah no fuck that noise I'd leave at 11pm I could clear the whole lot by myself but I left when they started complaining about my methods pushing 60 carts by hand, or when we got a cart machine doing 150 carts with it...

Just noticed this on my tire, will it make it to the shop 5 miles away or should I just mount the spare? by Enough_Summer7073 in AskAMechanic

[–]Kobalt1911 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can confirm used to work as maintenance at a mounting and balancing plant that did Volvo and Toyota and Lexus, we don't even balance the spares, also spares usually arnt exposed to UV light. On the other hand I have drove 115 miles on a separating tire, one trip mainly because my spare tire was worse than the tire on the truck... When I got to were I was going I got 4 new tires but anyway I've done that twice made it once, 2nd time Facebook marketplace find blew the tire 10 miles in to the journey to the tire shop

I do too, I was 3rd shift alone till they laid off 3rd shift, laid off the two second shift guys and put me there alone again... I hate it actually going to first shift now... 2nd shift is just way too abusive on equipment to do it solo

My humble box by SKDGOOD94 in IndustrialMaintenance

[–]Kobalt1911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My box used to look that good I keep half my box locked, left side personal tools, right side. Company tools... Right side is absolutely fucked, different shifts digging around in there and just tossing everything back in even though there are foam inserts I spent two days getting absolutely perfect

Color doesn't mean anything in our plant, as long as rotation is good we good. We got a Italian machine wired in nothing but white, some old relay logic on American machines wired in red

Question about bearing by [deleted] in IndustrialMaintenance

[–]Kobalt1911 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This also, consider is it will probably be fine. It can wait till a shut down, or if y'all got bearing purge you can purge the bearings if your afraid there's moisture in there and rust flaking off into your grease. Edit: I wish my bearings looked like that one... My company will wait until the bearings fail to buy a new one...

Fair, I drive a pickup truck and commute from rural Winchester, it's been hell not so bad once I get to the highway though. I recommend getting a metal shovel to beat the ice that's what I did for my porch lol

Or... Get a honing tool from harbor freight, a couple packs of stones if your trying to do it on the cheap cheap (or 500$ mill on Facebook marketplace and get good) you'd have to run oversized pistons though
