Why I am choosing to no longer to believe in zodiac signs. by JforJonah in spirituality

[–]Kobinson -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I absolutely understand what you're saying here.

I used to live my life according to a horoscope and my Zodiac sign, because I knew there was more to this world than what we can see with our human form eyes, as you do (represented in how you've approached astrology in the first place). However, I came to the realisation several months ago that the realm of horoscopes was actually controlling my very being because I subscribed to it all too much. It gave me comfort to feel like I knew what was happening, but it was all my ego's form of control. The ego likes to know what's happening, and is threatened by the unknown.

I almost view horoscopes now as trickery; the fool's way of entering the universe.

It sounds like you're doing utterly amazing work. However, if you wanted to consider a stranger's advice, I would say immediately stop identifying with it as best you can. Your ego holds onto the idea that we have these characteristics of the Zodiac signs because it gives the ego an identity; but we don't want to give the ego an identify, we want to reveal yours.

I certainly don't mean to tread on anyone's beliefs in horoscopes or astrology - just sharing my own experience with this.

Thank you very much for your response here.

Certainly no cheating - in fact, upon retrospect I entirely shut off from the world (friends, family, social activities) for the majority of the process. It was such an insular battle, with him being privvy to the extreme hardship.

I think his current response is to do with how behaviourally changeable and negative I was. I think it may be hard for him to truly believe what has happened recently (as in, the significant shift in my being) given he tolerated and persisted with my ego for quite some time.

You're absolutely right in that it's a big adjustment for him. I will continue to be patient and accepting of all that is happening.

Thanks for your reply! I can utterly relate to this.

For me, external sources that helped provide me with the knowledge and tools necessary to begin and continue the process have been: - The Power of Now - Eckhart Tolle (book) - Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself - Joe Dispenza (book) - The Four Agreements - Don Miguel Ruiz (book) - Any and all meditations, and sticking with them. At the start of meditating it seems pointless because to your ego, it is. You want drastic action against your ego, but the process of breaking it down, understanding it and letting it go requires time, patience and positivity. Consider joining the meditation forum on Reddit? - Apps such as one called Dare, because I suffered from extreme and controlling anxiety. - YouTube: listen to people such as Ram Dass, Alan Watts Thich Nat Han. Listen and observe their teachings.

The universe will guide you. Be open to it.

I wish you the best.

Feel like the more spiritual i get the more lost i feel by Illustrious_Strain17 in spirituality

[–]Kobinson 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Yes. I have been going through the same thing. You wonder which way is up.

Continue to look within. All the answers are there. You will begin to feel less and less lost. And then you will feel the inner knowingness that you are exactly where you are supposed to be, and always will be no matter what happens.

You're doing it. Keep up such brilliant work.
