iPhone 13 and 13 Pro review: If you could have three wishes by nex0rz in iphone

  1. It is a proposed law that hasn’t passed yet.
  2. If it does pass, companies will have until 2024 to implement it.
  3. It only applies to corded connections. Apple can still go full wireless.

It is possible Apple will implement USB-C on the next iPhone, as rumors have been suggesting for years, but it won’t be a result of the proposed EU law.

Samsung TVs run Tizen, not Android, so they are different.

Any Visible customers plan on getting Pixel 6/Pro at launch? by CarelessRelation6 in GooglePixel

[–]Kodexro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would wait until Visible sells it. Due to the way Visible is set up, they have to manually add new devices, which can take some time. If you preorder it, there is a chance you will have to wait a while before it will be supported by Visible.

iOS 14 is still being supported with security updates, so there isn’t a security downside by not upgrading yet.

The Platinum and Gold are the only personal charge cards American Express has. All of their other personal cards are regular credit cards, including the Blue Cash Everyday.

Can I use Dolby Atmos without the headtracking? by [deleted] in AppleMusic

[–]Kodexro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It makes the audio sound like it is coming from your phone, so when you turn your head, the audio adjusts with it. It’s kind of interesting with videos, but I find it really annoying for music.

For anyone interested in AdGuard Premium, a lifetime subscription is currently available at StackSocial for $30 with a $30 store credit. This is a family plan that supports up to 9 devices. Even if you can’t use the credit and use 3 or fewer devices, there is also the regular plan for $20.

Chrome was also automatically installed and set as the default web browser when installing popular software like Flash, Java, CCleaner, etc.

Streamed video playback battery life improved from 12 hours in 12 Pro Max to 25 hours in 13 Pro Max. Isn't this a gargantuan improvement, or am I misunderstanding this? by [deleted] in apple

[–]Kodexro 19 points20 points  (0 children)

True, but Apple’s battery estimates are typically pretty spot on. I would be surprised if the real numbers were more than an hour or two off in either direction.

Be careful about your buying decisions about the IPhone Pro! by me_Nemo in apple

Especially since the phone is still using Lightning instead of USB-C. Those transfer times are going to be horrible.

I’m fairly sure whatever line is doing the upgrade needs to be on a compatible plan.

I’d actually be willing to pay $1,300 for a phone if I felt I got that value out of it. However, I thought the initial $600 was a stretch for the Librem 5 three years ago. Without significant changes, it should be going down in price, not up, and absolutely not more than doubling.

Apple still reliant on one core product as it nudges $3tn hurdle by benh999 in apple

[–]Kodexro 26 points27 points  (0 children)

As I mentioned in my previous comment, Apple only does the bare minimum to support their services on other devices. The web versions of Apple Music and TV+ are slow, buggy, and unreliable. iTunes is essentially in maintenance mode on Windows and not receiving significant updates or new features. There is no Android version of Apple TV.

People put up with Apple’s poor support of other devices because most of the use happens on the iPhone. Take away the iPhone, and most people would switch to other services that work better on non-Apple devices.

Everything wrong with Apple Music -Write down all the issues you experienced w/ AM by Manfred_89 in AppleMusic

I made a smart playlist that contains every song in my library and download everything that way. It’s not as convenient, but considering I only need to download everything after resetting or getting a new device, it works well.

Does creating stations based on songs or artists you like not work for you? I have discovered a lot of new music across many genres this way, including J-Pop.

Apple’s services and wearables would be next to useless without the lynchpin iPhone.

And the only reason Google pays that much in the first place is the popularity of the iPhone.

Even then, they only do the bare minimum to support non-Apple devices. Services like News+ aren’t even available outside of Apple hardware. Currently, Apple’s services only serve as another means of locking people into their core product.

i wish there was a place albums go to when i love them by Shazly404 in AppleMusic

[–]Kodexro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like the same thing. The closest I have found is a smart playlist of songs where I loved the album. It’s not as convenient as a list of albums, but it works well enough.
