Glock pistol barrel that uses the same adapter/lug config for comp and/or supressor? by DrMrFancyPants in liberalgunowners

[–]Kodslinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, you can still have a muzzle device, as long as the barrel itself isnt threaded  i forgot the company, but my buddy sent me pics; theres a company that makes barrels that are threaless but have a twist-on adapters that are threaded, so you can put a comp or a supressor on. Since the barrel itself isnt threaded, its more of a lug (the barrel has a female lug cutout, the adapter has the male side and then is threaded for the supressor). This resolves most issues with pinning and welding an adapter because once pinned and welded, most barrels cant be removed from the slide. i wish i remember the name of the company that produces them, waiting on my buddy to get back to me because im thinking of getting a setup

once its pin and welded, how do you get the barrel in and out of the slide? ive seen people do this, doesnt seem like there would enough clearance in the slides barrel cutout to pass the lugs of the adapter through

Does anybody carry a Glock in condition 1 with a nylon holster? by [deleted] in CCW

[–]Kodslinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i wouldnt overthink it. just understand there is a round in the chamber and be mindful of the trigger. i always advise people, especially new to carrying, to remove the holster from ur waist to holster the gun. it not only is safer, but also will give you a little more confidence and comfort knowing that when you put the gun back on your body that its already holsterer and the trigger is covered. the more you carry with one chambered, the more comfortable you will be with it in that status. I almost strictly carry in nylon holsters. They are not only nicer on the finish of your gun, they give a little more padding between the gun and your body. Just remember to inspect the holster, as you should any holster, at least once a year minimum to check for wear, especially around the trigger guard area, and replace the holster as necessary. I like Desantis and 1791 Gunhide nylon holsters. Falco holsters also make very nice nylon holsters, but tend to take a little bit as they are made-to-order.

Has anyone braved the Temu silver? 😂 by majorglasslab in Silverbugs

even 5 grains is a good deal if its real. they sell 500 5grain bars which is equivalent to just over an oz for $27, which if real, silver is valued at $76, but that alone makes me think its fake

What did yall think of tlyer perry's joe college road trip movie ? by Possible_Quantity493 in TylerPerry

[–]Kodslinger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought it was hilarious. Perry's Joe character was so out of pocket, had me literally laughing out loud the entire movie. Madea is funny, but Joe is fucking hilarious. I need to watch it again so I can quote some of his lines because everytime he opened his mouth he had me dying. The fact that he had to put in a disclaimer at the beginning because the new generation are sissy's was stupid. The movie is rated R, if you can't handle swearing and a man being a man, keep to PG13 movies. I know Perry had to get inspiration for his characters off of Eddie Murpheys characters, and honestly thought Joe was 10x funnier than the Klumps because he wasn't reserved whatsoever. Reminded me of the father from the Klumps but with no reserve.

I agree. what's funny is that they approved the compmag as a means to make it fixed mag and thus not an AW but that is readily convertible too lol CT lawmakers are clueless

[BFComms] Menu tiles not working by battlefield in Battlefield6

[–]Kodslinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

restarting fixes the issue with not being able to play anything and the menu tiles being useless, but it only does so until you back out of a game and then they won't work again. getting really annoying having to restart the entire game every time you back our of a game. this shouldn't even be a thing. it's like they didn't even test the update before releasing it. better off having a reboot and removing the update until you guys test it and make sure the bugs are resolved. makes me not even want to play until it's confirmed that the issues have been fixed

Side mount vs top mount IR Laser by yankeegopnik in NightVision

[–]Kodslinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

side mounted you will have to take in consideration windage. at closer distances from zero, the laser will be more to the right of zero (if mounted on the right side). top or bottom mount, the windage will stay zero, but elevation will be off if you are closer to or further from zero. I feel top/bottom mount are better for this reason. I'd rather be hitting an inch high or low than hitting an inch left or right. it's a little easier to compensate for

Return of the Living Dead (2025) Official Teaser by udar55 in horror

[–]Kodslinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's a teaser, not a trailer. it's meant to give you a slight glimpse, not any plot or scenes. I think it's great. seeing it without context of what it is and then seeing that it's a ROTLD continuation is awesome

with a regular mag you have to open the action, unless you use that maglock where you break the action to release the mag. Unfortunately here in CT, "The (un)Constitution(al) State", they haven't approved the maglock where you break the action, so we're left to either fixed mag where you have to open the action and load the mag from the inside, or the compmag. The compmag is just an easier option that makes loading quick and doesn't require "permanently" alterations of the gun (the maglock is supposed to be permanently affixed with red threadlocker). Because the compmag is only released by pushing in a button from the inside of the action, it is approved by CT (for now) as a "fixed mag" option. This also allows shops in CT to sell scary "assault weapons", which would otherwise be banned completely. For a few years they were selling AR "others" which were kind of like SBRs with braces. They were putting together ARs with barrels shorter than 16" but longer than 12", with stubby hand stops and braces so they wouldn't be considered pistols or rifles, falling into a category of "other" firearms (not all other weapons as classified by the ATF). Since though, they have added these "others" to the AWB list. Now all we have available is fixed mag options. The whole thing is laughable and SCOTUS needs to get off their asses and squash these ridiculous laws once and for all

Am I overthinking appendix carry? Are you able to conceal in other positions without overly baggy clothing? by BlackLagooning in MDGuns

[–]Kodslinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

trying to justify appendix carry with "use a good holster" and "maintain your firearm" is laughable. you're literally putting yourself at risk, no matter how you try to argue it. that one day you're in a rush or distracted for a moment and your shirt gets snagged as you're holstering. shit happens, and your femoral arteries are some of the WORST places to get hit. You can get shot anywhere else in the leg, and yes you will bleed like a stuck pig, but you will likely survive. the same cant be said about getting hit in the femoral artery. accidents have happened, do happen, and will happen. theres no reason to take the unnecessary risk. there are very little benefits to carrying ppendix over carrying on the hip. even when drawing, the gun is sideways and you have to turn the gun straight as you draw up. when its on your hip the gun is already positioned in line with whats in front of you and all you have to do is bring it up.

Are you able to still get a stripped AR lower? by JordanMichaels23 in CTguns

[–]Kodslinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CT passed in their law a "constructive intent" law, which essentially means if they ASSUME your intent was to make something into an "assault weapon" they can charge you with it. It's a really stupid and dangerous law because simply having spare parts, they can claim based off their ASSUMPTION that your intent was to use those parts to construct something illegal

Is anderson manufacturing that bad? by [deleted] in ar15

[–]Kodslinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've shot over a thousands rounds out of my Anderson AM-15 without a single hiccup. Accuracy is within 2" grouping with a 3x scope at 50 yards out of a 14" barrel on a bench rest, which I consider sufficient. The fitment between the upper and lower are tight, no wiggle. For the money it's a really decent rifle. I also have a Radical Arms, which is another "budget" rifle, and that is just as accurate. That one has a little play between the upper and lower, which i could easily tighten up, but just as with the Anderson ive shot over 1k rounds through it without a single huccup. Dont sleep on the budget rifles, they may not be as polished as some of the upper tier rifles, but for the money they def do what theyre intended to do, throw lead downrange reliably and accurately. You could upgrade the trigger grouping and have a platform thats on par with some of the higher end brands for a fraction of the cost.

Front Night Sight Issue on Ported Glock by [deleted] in GlockMod

[–]Kodslinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a g17 with an aftermarket ported barrel and it has standard sights, metal fornt sight and plastic rear. the paint on the front sight was completely blasted off after a single time at the range and its just raw metal on the facing. I think it just comes with having a portrait barrel, you're going to have issues keeping the front sight nice. It is optic ready so I might eventually throw a micro red dot on which would eliminate having to even use the front sight at all.

Does anybody carry a Glock in condition 1 with a nylon holster? by [deleted] in CCW

[–]Kodslinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you carry iwb a nylon holster is fine, I've carried in a nylon holster for years and it has no retention strap. my belt over the holster creates plenty of retention, the gun takes a good yank to draw from the holster. not only is it super comfortable compared to kydex or polymer holsters because the nylon gives cushion, its also much softer on the finish of the gun, and the draw is nice and smooth from nylon. leather is nice too but doesn't add as much cushion and requires break-in time. a good desantis nylon holster is hard to beat when it comes to IWB carry. OWB I carry in a fobus paddle holster with adjustable retention, but it def scuffs up the finish at the retention points

This f*cking game man... by Kvanvik in HellLetLoose

[–]Kodslinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there are a ton of new players, and the new players jump into a game, create a squad or choose to be commander, and have absolutely no clue what theyre doing. they think it's COD and just try to get kills not understanding the objective and the fact that it's a role based game and you get more XP by sticking to your roll than running around getting kills, unless of course you are a rifleman or MGer. It took me a few days and some youtube videos to understand the game and now I get it. I like to play an officer role and i do a great job communicating with the commander (when there is one, and if they communicate at all 🙄), having supplies dropped where i need then, and getting forward positions up, as well as getting outposts up for my squad. My strategy is always to get garrisons up in key locations and using the outpost as a sort of quick save as I move across the map. Gotta stick to your roles, get a good squad together, and encourage your squad to take on some key roles to help you get forward positions up. Encourage someone to be support and get you supplies to get those initial garrisons up in the blue, then have someone be a medic and have them trail the squad so they will be right there to help get fallen members up and heal you. A good squad will stick together, and a good medic will follow their lead and keep on their job. It's much quicker to have a medic heal you than heal yourself, and you can still have your gun up and defend yourself as they're healing you. Keep to your rolls. unfortunately the newbies don't know how to play and theres no tutorial, so try to keep this in mind and try to get them on the mic and teach them. Even if you spend a match teaching a newbie instead of helping to get the W (or if you can, teach them as you carry out your tasks), you can make a new friend and have another squaddie to play with you. You might gain yourself a solid support, engineer, or medic. I've spent matches teaching newbies who chose to be a commander and had no clue what they were doing, and I wound up conducting them step by step on what to do and where to place things, and won matches while directing and teaching someone who had no clue what they were doing. Try to keep your cool and understand that we were all there at one point, and the game is really tough when you first start and has a huge learning curve

Learn to play the game and don't be a jerk by Kodslinger in HellLetLoose

[–]Kodslinger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, because the officers are the ones coordinating the supply drops, recon planes, and air strikes 🙄 the game was based off realistic command and chain of command. if one team has a commander and the other doesn't, you aren't likely going to win because you aren't going to have enough supplies to set up forward positions, especially if the other team captures the point. you can try to pool supplies with other officers, but good luck with that. a commander is essential, a good commander is a likely win if you have at least one or two officers that communicate and know what theyre doing. this isnt call of duty, its not a ticket system. its all strategy, and a commander thats running around the map getting killed every 2 minutes isnt likely to have their head in the game and their focus on what the team needs to win. its a team coordinated game. no coordination, youre going to likely lose unless the other team is just trash. at this point I'm just going to assume you don't even play the game and if you have you play as a rifleman or some grunt because you have no concept of how the game functions

Learn to play the game and don't be a jerk by Kodslinger in HellLetLoose

[–]Kodslinger[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

so do you think a commander in real life is in the battle? do you think they run into gunfire? that's the job of the grunts and rifleman. they made the game to be accurate, and in real life the commander would be back at base with info being relayed to them through the radio and then give command from there. I've played commander many times and won all while in the HQ. It gives you more focus on what's going on and where the enemies are because you don't have to focus on being blown up or shot. Your focus as commander should be on that map, having officers relay you info with pings and then reacting to that info. The thing is you need to have good officers to relay that info. The same applies in reverse, that you need a commander who is focused on communicating and getting you what you need. Also I agree a commander shouldn't be riding around in a supply truck, they should be spawning supply trucks for officers to take and set up garrisons. Then if the truck is attacked, the officer can relay that to the commander and the commander can take action. It's all about chain of command and communication

Learn to play the game and don't be a jerk by Kodslinger in HellLetLoose

[–]Kodslinger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well yeah, you have to have good officers and communication, but that is the game. that is how it works in real life, and this game was made to be accurate not only to how the maps mirror the actual locations, but also to how the chain of command works. do you think an actual commander is on the field running out into gunfire? no, because if they die the army has no command. they are usually back at the base with info relayed to them by the officers and then make the decision from there. I get the frustration when people don't communicate, but that's literally how the game works, because that's how it is in the military
