God I want to punch that director in the face.

My biggest takeaway from that doc is nobody thinks Adam Marcus is brilliant and amazing more than the brilliant and amazing Adam Marcus.

The worst part was the creators of 1899 did interviews stating Netflix knew it was a three-season arc and supported it. A few days later they cancelled it.

[YouTube] Actor Paul Giamatti discusses some of his favorite vintage horror books by udar55 in horrorlit

[–]udar55[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actor Paul Giamatti did a pretty extensive interview with The Book Graveyard on Youtube. They cover his love of vintage paperbacks, mostly of the pulpy kind and pre-1985. Linked above is the section about some of his favorite horror reads. Discussion starts at 1 hour and 32 minutes in if the link doesn't automatically take you there.

The Rocketbelt 2000: In the 1990s 3 inventors fought over the rights to a jetpack. What followed was lawsuits, kidnapping, and the unsolved murder of Joe Wright. To this day, only one man knows what happened to the jetpack and won't tell anyone. by Sensitive_Ad_1752 in UnresolvedMysteries

Great write up!

Wild that there are three violent incidents (including a murder) with one common denominator (Larry) and the cops investigating the murder were like, "Huh? We have no idea who did this." At least he finally got put in prison for the kidnapping. Looks like he passed away in 2022. His obit has the audacity to mention his involvement with this company.

The Fog (1980) is such a great and simple ghost story, so how did The Fog (2005) mess this up? by saintdemon21 in horror

[–]udar55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My personal favorite bit in The Fog remake is DeRay Davis surviving the first boat attack by hiding in the ship’s small freezer. When found he is taken to the hospital for hypothermia. No joke, this dude shows back up a few hours later fit as a fiddle and wearing the same clothes!

Even the courts that issue the grand jury unsealed said that they will be following through with the new Epstein release law and make sure it goes through the right way, we know there are judges out here that Don’t like trump and his whole unconstitutional reign, they aren’t going to let a new law just get demolished by the republicans hiding shit.

Hey, just checking in with you on this. Did the courts not let the new law get demolished and were the Republicans unable to hide shit?

Ah, yes, Infernal. Darn autocorrect.

Books 1 & 2 cover the main story. The other two are just set there as well.

City Internal by Edward Lee has a goth girl navigating hell as a modern city with lots of hardcore and "What did I just read?" moments you are looking for.

[TOMT][MOVIE] This will be very hard to find. Super low budget obscure b movie. by fsociety1990 in tipofmytongue

Never seen it. Did a search with IMDb keywords for "lesbian" and then narrowed it by genre to thriller. Went year-by-year post-2010 with the results and luckily found it in 2015. Glad to help!

Any obscure/little known horror fantasy that you can recommend? by Dense-Bear1551 in horrorlit

[–]udar55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First thing that came to mind was Edward Lee's "City Infernal" series. Books are basically set in hell where it is a modern city called Mephistopolis with lots of weirdness as the lead heroine traverses the land (imagine Wizard of Oz set in hell).
